Re: What's Your Story?
Chie-chan's story~
It's all started with a awesome chorus by NND called Just Be Friends. I was totally hookup-ed with that song that time and day by day I discovered VOCALOID~ Hatsune Miku and Kaito and Rin and Len blabla. Start from that time, I LOVE VOCALOID. I started to download their songs to my iPhone and start to sing their songs~!
And then, I met the awesome CLEAR-sama and Halyosy-sama. Clear's Little Traveler was the one who make me wanna record my singing and put it to my YT. And, I met Rai (Blitcaze95) who has the same voice as Clear and sometimes Dasoku. So, honestly, I was stalking him and Rin (RinSakuraRin) that time (it's not my fault, they're too awesome! They need to be stalked D: ) And yeah so on~~ Then, after a long time checking Rin's YT page, I discovered YTChorus OwO! When I discovered YTChorus, I met the girl with the cute voice and epic chara, Noki. She's my second idol in YTC. So, I decided to join YTC. Then I met, Kurin, Kran, Apol, Haru, JinSeng, Kumba and so on~~ XD
So, yeah, YTChorus really bring happiness to my life and I felt more confidence and my stage fright is now NO MORE OUO! I really love YTChorus! YTChorus is like the second family in my life. I love y'all~! AND, YTC also increases my subscribers
Re: What's Your Story?

Re: What's Your Story?
I first encountered Vocaloid music about a year ago, via an AMV, which had 'Melt' in it. Because of its really high pitch (funnily enough, there are still people who can reach those impossible notes o_O), and the catchy tune, yes, I clicked on the links which led me to the world of VOCALOID :D
Yeah, anyway, I youtube Vocaloid songs whenever possible due to the MASSIVE amount of songs there are, and my random clicking habits brought light to MMD and NICO NICO CHORUSES!! Then...the choruses lead me here. Where the auditions start. Personally though, (I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO RIGHT TO BE SAYING THIS BUT...!), I never really bothered with listening to auditions...because they aren't to the standard of the final chorus.
I just joined YTChoruses, so I don't really have a right to be posting this up...*sigh* Did anyone last through my blabber? And understand it?

Re: What's Your Story?
Mm.... shortly speaking it's just that my univ friend's friend, xyzddaeneo here (I'm not sure she's still active, she's one of the first ytc members, I think), told me about ytchorus, so I joined....?

==below: tl;dr thingy==
- Spoiler:
- Well basically xD I've always liked animes and those kind of things even before most of you were born (no, really. Since I was around 3 or 4, I've always been following sailor moon and kamen rider and dragon ball). So I guess it's almost like, ever since I was born I've always been into Japanese culture.
Which brought me to learn the language by myself, slowly.
And finally made my parents realize that they should actually let me learn the language properly.
And so I started learning japanese, and sticks closer to 'that side'.
Both my older brother and me are the... so-called-'otaku', and we spend our life mostly on the net. He told me about japan making a sound synthesizer software called vocaloid, and I was quite interested, but that's it.
Some loooooong time after that, he linked me to melt and world is mine, said that he liked the 2 songs (yt link). And after that, I clicked on the related videos here and there, linking me to some of the songs that fascinated me more, Cendrillon, Cantarella, Pierrot(machigerita), Crazy Clown, Oni to Musume, etc. (don't ask me why I picked dark songs ><). I found Usa and Tolie's Cendrillon then.
And after some discussion with my brother, he told me to sign in on Niconico, it'd be much easier for me to look for songs (he had an ID too, he told me that I could use his but it'd be annoying if both of us wanted to login). So I started lurking around niconico. Everyday xD
And quite some months after that, univ started and I found a friend. She was my middle-school friend's friend. We got along well, and we had more or less the same likings. Some months after knowing her, she told me that she had a friend who was quite knowledgeable about vocaloids too, and that she'd like us to chat together, so she made an msn group chat. It was xyzddaeneo xD xyz told me about youtube having a chorus, and after some talks, I tried making an account too. I thought it would be a nice motivation for me to start singing, since I really wanted to sing and know more about the niconico people. I really dreamt on being able to get on good term with tolie and everything xD;; shoot me I know I was being an idiot.
So I made an account and posted on the "hi there" section. After that I disappeared for around 2 months or so xD The next time I logged in, there was saihate and dear you audition. I thought it'd be a nice chance to sing, so I made a youtube account and tried learning everything about singing and mixing. And I tried adding skypes too, and so that's how I'm the me from today <3

- I didn't really find ytchorus that much of an amazing chorus, but I really thought that it's amazing for people from different places and time to gather and share. Moreover, I was fascinated with how people give their all for such informal group, and making it big, contributing to the world @__@ But of course there's still room for improvement! As long as you don't overestimate yourself and drown yourself in your own fame, you'll definitely live for long >u< (no I'm being real honest, fame tends to kill people, I really hope it won't kill ytc)
The most important thing is, I found friends from ytchorus. Now that I think about it, they were people I almost never saw in the forum before (I've only noticed some active posters like luna and penny and mii and suddi and dymp etc), but who cares. I love my friends <3 Net world never fails to surprise me, how I can link from one person to another just from a very small thing ^^ A small encounter which you never thought of, ended up being something that changes your life a lot.
it's getting too long orz

Re: What's Your Story?
I... only vaguely remember how I discovered YTChorus, and my vague memory will probably incorrect. I blame my non-existent case of short-term memory loss (or long-term, I can never tell the difference). Er, but it's probably best I get right down to the story, yes?
Way back when, I discovered the song, Akahitoha. I wish I had discovered it sooner, for I've come to prefer Miku's rendition over Luka's. Uh, anyways... I was hooked on the song, and when I'm hooked, I will stay attached to YouTube for hours. 8U So as I continued to rapidly add covers of the song into my favorites list, I came across the Nico Nico Chorus for it. It was like paradise, having almost all my favorite covers put into one video. I thought I appreciated choruses before, but this was like... uh, Halloween? (hurrhurr, autumn leaves... autumn.... October... Halloween... get it?|'D -shot-)
After the video had finished, I glanced towards the side to see the list of related videos to come across YTChorus's Chorus of Akahitoha. Clicking on the video, I had no idea of what to expect. I'm happy to admit that I was very impressed. It sounded so legit, and I was amazed at how it was also uploaded to nicovideo (I was very much a newbie to that website.... and still am).
Of course, I became ecstatic at the idea of making choruses on YouTube in a similar fashion as the ones found on nicovideo, and eagerly auditions for bpm. Even though I was one of the winners, the chorus was dropped. But, I chose not to stop there, and audition again for another chorus. The latest I auditioned for was for a Chorus Battle group, but my voice can also be found somewhere among the many people who joined the Dango Daikazoku Chorus. I also plan on auditioning for Yowaimushi Montblanc real soon.
Eh, how was that? I'm sorry if no one understood my little babble there. My creativity is nearly null right now.

Re: What's Your Story?
Oh wow. I've only been here for several months but it feels so long now, I hope I still have everything right, might have messed up a couple of stuff...
Thanks for reading!
- Spoiler:
- Servant of Evil got me into Vocaloid. I can't remember anymore if it was the first Vocaloid song I ever heard, can't remember how I came about it even. But, yup, I loved it to bits. Still do in fact. But my first cover wasn't SoE. It was--
KANIS' (MESSY) STORY~
Spice~. I like my English fandub of it, but feel kind of embarrassed of it now. I just recorded my vocals along with the instrumental, didn't even know the concept of mixing.^^; I also didn't realize that there was practically a community of fandubbers out there and forgot all about it. Yup.
Moooooooonths later...
Everyone should recognize this screenshot. If you don't, go check out Razzy-sama's Magnet English Fandub. It's ~beautiful~ (until you get sick of Magnet after hearing it over and over and over again anyway) and introduced me to the world of fandubbing~. I did my own fandub using his lyrics, then found Maeka-san's duet-ready and sang to it, and much later we did a Magnet Rival Freedom English Duet Fandub too. But, yeah, I should get on with the YTC part, er...
So Istalkedfollowed Razzy-sama and discovered Kran through their Shotarella English Cover. In Kran's YT Profile page I found out we come from the same country, which gave me the confidence to SKYPE her~. She mentioned YTC to me then, but--and seriously IDK why now-- I didn't join until several weeks later. Or was it a month. 8|a
Once I did though, it was a lot of fun! I've met a lot of people, and I've joined a couple of choruses (SoE and Magnet...*blinks* OK, didn't realize the irony until now, haha). I've gotten a bit better at controlling myself now, but I used to stalk the Group Dubs/Organizations forum like crazy before, even at work!xD
Because I reeeeeally love duet and choruses! (Please collab with me~!) And the YTC forums is a seriously awesome place to find people to work with; I'm really happy I'm here.<3
Um...The End~! (how lame."OTZ)
P.S. Because I need to mention them~ ENIS~!<333
Kran introduced me to them too. A group composed of Filipino fandubbers! I haven't been in an Enis chorus yet, but someday, someday..! Meanwhile~ they colour my days with Skype chat. I loves them muchly.
Thanks for reading!

Sorry for my bad grammar and spelling. ^^;
The End~ :3
Wow~ I b-better stop typing now. OTL It's getting too long.
Sorry for my bad grammar and spelling. ^^;
- Spoiler:
- It all started when I had clicked on an MAD (Imitation black of Allen X Lenalee X Lavi). Back then, I didn't know what vocaloid, fandubbers, and niconico singers were (Yes, I was very stupid. XD). I was an anime/manga freak and I didn't really care about singers too much. The Imitation Black version that I clicked on was sung by 蛇足, バルシェ, and Clear, I didn't really care about them before (I'm so sorry Clear-san!!! ;w;) and I was more focused on the awesome editing skills.... and I still am. =D And so I favorited the video and I guess... forgot about it for a few weeks.
Some time later, I discovered Yamai-sama's version of Servent of Evil. I was addicted to it and favorited it. I looked at the comments and discovered that Yamai-sama was a nico singer. Then I started looking for other songs that Yamai covered and got addicted to Acute. I also started listening to Vocaloid music. I also started listening to fandubs of nico singers and youtube fandubbers. I also started listening to choruses and I had found one that YTChorus had made, I think it was Dear -Remixed Edition-.
I was amazed and started looking at the YTChorus channel to see if they had anymore awesome choruses. They did and I started listening to them all, soon I discovered there was a forum and went there to take a look. At first I didn't have the nerve to join since I thought I was a horrible singer, at that time, I was going to have a duet with a fandubber from youtube. I was practicing singing with my horrible voice and she taught me some tips. I joined a couple days later and I sorta lurked in the forums before having the nerves to introduce myself and I made some new friends. Then I auditioned for Toeto and Melt and possibly might audition for Yowamushi Montblanc. I had discovered amazing fandubbers because of YTChorus and I hope YTChorus will never stop producing their amazing choruses. You changed my life. A lot. Thank you.
The End~ :3
Wow~ I b-better stop typing now. OTL It's getting too long.
Re: What's Your Story?
WARNING. VERY tl;dr ahead.
- Spoiler:
- I forget exactly how I came across Vocaloid, but I think it had something to do with my friend showing me an MMD video. Naturally, I had absolutely no clue what it was, and kept looking around and then I discovered Hatsune Miku. I was kind of confused over the concept of what she was though, because the video described her as a virtual diva. I didn't understand that, but I knew she wasn't anime.
A while later I came across some song, I think it was Love is War, World is Mine, Meltdown, one of those big mainstream songs. I recognized Hatsune Miku and I felt better now that I knew what it was. -shot-. I started listening to more and I became obsessed with Vocaloid and Utau~
I forget exactly how I found it, but I actually found YTC back in like November of 2009, but I didn't care because I was utterly clueless as to what it was. XDD. But then, some amount of time later, in like December or January, I found my first Nico Chorus, it was Meltdown. I was just amazed at the sheer professionalism (is that a word? o.o) of it, and I quickly found Love is War. I wasn't sure what Nico Nico Chorus was at the time, I thought it was some singing group. (Which it is but..you know what I mean. -shot-) But comments on their videos explained to me what I didn't know.
So as I became more interested in nico choruses, I saw people in the comments talking about the individual covers, and I started looking at them. ...Naturally I picked clear's because everybody kept talking about him so I was curious. -shotdead- But those are what made me really start wanting to sing on youtube.
So I posted some covers up (I can't believe how bad they were..xD) and then I wondered if Youtube had a chorus (By this time I had totally forgotten about that time I found YTC lol.) and so I searched, "YouTube Chorus" and found the channel. I saw a forums link and I joined them, and by that time I think it was during the Dear You and Saihate auditions.
..and so yeah. that was my long story that most of you probably went "tl;dr" too. XD

How I got into singing?
How I got into YTC
Hope you enjoyed.
How I got into singing?
- Spoiler:
I have been singing ever since I was in 2rd grade... My music teacher asked me to join the school's choir so I joined 8D.. But after a year I left my country and moved to South America... After that I haven't really been into singing... Sometimes I would sing some random japanese songs cause I could [?]... I remember my very first recording was Yoru no Uta from CCS xD [k stfu I did like girly stuff back then... >: ...] and I sent it to a friend and she said she liked it 8D... That was in 7th grade? Anyways... So this whole fandub business started on 9th grade... A friend decided to invite me to an idol project he was making with other girls, so he asked me if I could sing and I said: Hm, k... 8D ... *records* and for some unknown reason I uploaded my very first cover to YT! And got lots of comments within 2 weeks, even though it sucked ballz >: ... Then I started recording more stuff... And uploaded more stuff...
One day, a friend I met in another forum said: HEY DO YOU KNOW KUMIKYOKU NICO NICO DOUGA and I said: Nowtfisthat, so he showed me the link and I said: OMFGTHISIZEPICHMUSTLEAHRNET. So then I saw these audition thingies on YT and I decided to audition! I got into both of them 8D... And hm, then one of the owners of the auditions said that it would be nice to contact me... So it is then that I got into all this Skype business and I met lots of great friends who also fandubbed and stuff... And I started making lots of friends ~
Many of them helped me improve my singing! Especially Ryan who literally [Er not really] forced me into singing harmonies 8D;; So that's how I started to look at fandubbing as a more professional and serious biznez.
How I got into YTC
- Spoiler:
One morning during my delicious winter vacations, someone called RinSakuraRin pmed me and said: HEY MIND JOINING AN AWESUM PALETTE CHORUS???????????????????????????????? *sends script* I was like: wth is a palette? I like painting too... How do you chorus with a paintbrush 8D. Well not really, I didn't think of that. K anyways. So I accepted, and yeah... Then after that this RinSakuraRin person kept on inviting me to her choruses [which ended up being a pain in da azz -not rly Rinchan <3 you know I love you wifey ~-] and in this day, she invited me to be staff of the YTChorus cause she was tired of having to listen to all my critiques 8D... sorry for being so harsh amg ;A; *hugs* K so that was my story.
Hope you enjoyed.

Re: What's Your Story?
Man, my VOCALOID adventure was wonderful and filled with laughing and crying in the school library and singing and loving and laughing at other people and their confused expressions.
So. Me and my BEST FRIEND of my Sophomore year in high school (I'm not a Senior and have a different BEST FRIEND 'cause the girl I knew then moved and I'm upset) showed it to me. She clearly really loved it a lot and we would sit at lunch and we would talk about fandoms and one glorious day she showed me either SPICE! or Fear Garden, I can't remember which came first... but we listened to it and she told me what VOCALOID was and that there were all kinds of characters and I was like, "uh... okay.." but I kinda liked it, too 'cause I love just about any form of music. And eventually, over the year she showed me more and more and more and I started listening to other songs on my own, like Meltdown was one of the first I found by myself that I actually liked.
And since then, I've been listening and listening and listening and now have over a hundred VOCALOID songs on my MP3 player of choice. It's beautiful and I love Rin.
So it took me maybe a year before I realized I could dub songs, too. And it took me a bit longer to figure out what kind of programs to use, how to record, etc etc. And my current BEST FRIEND EVAR Liz suggested "Oh I can put videos up for you, we can share a YT account fgjsefnkbnarljtnw gwej br etc." And our first fail as all hell video was me singing Alice Human Sacrifice over Skype and her recording it. It was absolutely atrocious. We took that down.
And then I met my friend Reggy who writes really good English lyrics for VOCALOID songs and she's actually a beautiful singer. ;D So I think it was SPICE! that I did a legit-ish dub of first. And it sucked. And it kinda went from there, of me doing awful English dubs of songs with audacity with only an internal mic. that makes awful noises.
Then waaaay later I finally got my headset and the first song I dubbed in Japanese was Suteki Da Ne. And that kinda sucks, too. But from there I started learning songs in Japanese faster, started singing a little better, though I'm still not very good. I've collected a total of thirty subscribers on youtube. xD Suck. Uhm. After a while I found this ad for YTC on youtube and I checked it out but I didn't really think anything of it other than, "oh cool, I might do that..." and that happened again when I heard about the audition for the Just Be Friends piano dub, but I didn't actually audition or join. I think that it was the Dear You chorus audition that finally got me to join. And then after I failed that I started stalking the group dub part of the forum. xD
But.. that's my story. I just learned Lily Lily Burning Night in like. Three hours. Stupid.

A guy, who is now a good friend of mine, "discovered" me and featured my voice in one of his original songs, Passepartout. lolololololol ah the memories. I've always loved singing, but ever since then I've wanted to improve my mixing skills and make good covers ouo To test myself I would enter singing auditions for a bunch of random choruses. I believe that's how I came onto the YTC community. I found an audition for Dear You. And at that time, I had already been planning to cover that so I was like "Why not?" At first I was going to back out because I needed to make an account for a forum magiger ouo'' And usually that just doesn't appeal to me. But I took a chance and made an account and submitted my audition and got in! But I'm really glad I joined YTC in general. ouo This singing community is wonderful. And it's very nice to know that whenever I have the time for singing, I can just escape to this little place >u< ♥
The end! ouo ♥

Go wall of text! I choose you!
- Spoiler:
- One fateful day, In 1991, a girl was born. Her parents named her Harley after some American movie star.
On the Christmas of 1997, her mother bought her a ps1. This would be her undoing.
Fast forward four or so years, and this girl was watching Dragonball Z and Pokemon non stop, on the English version of cartoon network. She had no idea that this was anime, but she knew she loved everything about it, and that it was totally different to normal shows.
Then her family took a trip to a shop called Cosco. There, while she was mooching around, she saw two games. One was a video game version of The Lion King, the other was Final Fantasy IX. She chose FFIX. It was the best decision she'd ever made.
Then, one day while browsing Nicklodeon, she saw a show that would change her young life. Yu-gi-oh.
Some may scoff at this choice of show, especially as it was the dubbed version, but she loved every second of it. She soon was playing the game herself.
And now we come to the crux of the tale, dear readers. While in a well known English supermarket, she came across a strange book. It read backwards, but appeared to be a comic book of some kind, about Yu-gi-oh. She bought it.
It's now 2009. And the girl of our story is looking around a site called YouTube looking for Hare Hare Yukai dance videos, and happens across a MMD. She is stunned by what she sees and delves deeper into the songs there.
Her first chorus however came after her obsession for 'Dear You' lead her to ANU's page. There she heard the '100 people chorus' for Dear You, and decided to flick around the page more.
Late 2009/ early 2010, the girl had stumbled upon a YouTube channel YTChorus. She saw the music there and loved it, so she subscribed.
A few moths of stalking later, and she thought she'd try her hand at this singing lark herself. Under the alias of OuterOcean, she entered the world of fandubbing and made herself some fabulous friends.
This is her story.

- Spoiler:
- So here it goes, I’ll use this song, Because I know it too well
And here it is, my YT tale, how it all, began for me
It started when, I met this girl, we never thought, we’d meet again
Yet even so, we went to the, same college, it was scary! (Her name is eo, but I don't think she's on YTC.....)
And then I learned that she was a stalker oh why please shoot me! (she keeps showing up everywhere! D:)
But that ok because, she’s still pretty cool :D
Even though it’s creepy, we’re still great friends
And she was the one who introduced me to vocaloid and it went downhill from there (I should note that I've never really studied... correctly...)
The first songs were, the evil series, After that, my list grew
And we began, exchanging songs, it wasn’t until now that we both sang (We just randomly decided to go to the school's recording studio and sing some songs. Now we're hooked.. OTL)
(*insert retardness* - My lyrics aren’t actually useful.. as they only give me an idea to sing about.. OTL)
And now we are crazily obsessed so please forgive me!
But that’s ok because, We’re good at hiding our
Insanity so that it won’t show
And even though I know about, YTC I didn’t join until now~~~~~~~~~~~~ (Mostly I joined because I didn't know how to mix.. haha)
(*insert more retardness*)
(What meant to go in eventually but because I fail.. OTL)
But that’s ok because, I’m here now
Learning so much from all of you
And that’s really all there is to say, so I’ll finish now
…(And I think I was in the right part of the song.. FAIL.. But I guess that’s what I get for trying to remember from the top of my head)

Re: What's Your Story?
Hello
- Spoiler:
My whole life
I was made fun of for my voice,
I was said to be tone deaf, and
I ended up hating to sing
It was two months ago...
I started liking Supercell, especially Nagi.
I researched her and found some information about NND.
I decided to force myself to like vocaloids, because
I had previously thought they were annoying.
I searched for Melt because it was popular
It was so-so at first until
I heard Halyosy's Melt Million, then
I was determined to learn the song.
I ended singing the whole version.
I searched for more covers of Melt and
I found one that said it was an audition for ytchorus but
I blew it off.
A few days later...
I got curious so
I went back and found that cover and
I searched for links that may refer me to this so called "ytchorus" and
I ended up watching this scare video involving Konata on the person's new YT Channel and
I was just horrified.
I was lost so
I just did what
I always do when
I am lost
Google
I found it immediately and
I noticed that the Melt audition was still open for a few days so
I rushed and covered it.
I lost myself for a few days and
I decided to check out the forums.
I was overwhelmed with all the cool songs that
I wanted to sing more.
I used the Skype Thread and found some new friends.
I eventually got my first vocal lesson over call from Nyaron
I was really happy.
I also met my first YTC family on Skype and
I ended up wasting my time everyday and
I kept getting in trouble with my mom but
I thought it was all worth it in the end
On Youtube
I uploaded my first audition, and after a while
I got my first subscriber, It was Apol.
I didn't know who he was but
I was happy because
I knew
I was on my way.
I knew that
I had no knowledge on music or singing but
I knew that
I had room for improvement and learning.
So here I am now,
Singing for the world to hear.

Re: What's Your Story?
Hmm...okayyyy, lemme think...
OKAY SO. I was like looking through Voclaoid covers and stuff to see their translated lyrics and then I found a video of someone covering one of Len's songs where there's seven of him. And I was liek: OMFG I WANNA SEEEEEEEE... So I clicked it and it brought me to Suvi's video (yeah, I know xP). So I went, commented on it and his page. After that, I started to talk to him a bit more and saw another comment of his page from Choco-chan and it was like: SOMEONE HELP MEH, HE'S EATING MEH. And I was like: WHA?????!!! NUUU *runs to Choco's page*
Then I started talking to Choco-chan and Suvi a lot...then Suvi hauled his butt to Hiatus land, so I just kept talking to Choco!~ Then we decided to sing Alice Human Sacrifice! So we went around asking friends if they wanted to join, but they were all busy. Then Choco went and posted it up here and I made an account here to follow the thread. =w= Then I forgot about it for...3 weeks? I dunno.
Then suddenly I was like: OMG I HAS AN ACCOUNT HURRRRR. So I went back on, intro'd myself in the uh....intro thingymabobby and yushhhhhh.
The end. =w= ...Kemi did a good job helping me break in 8D -shotshotshot-

Re: What's Your Story?
Nothing special really~~~~
Well I was talking to karururu~~~~~ And then we got to the topic of Akahitoha since Nyan was in it. So I decided to listen on it. And oh dear lord it sounded amazing 8D. So I asked Rinny if she would ever do something like this again~ And of course she said yes and not too long later (few minutes) the YTC account was made!
I of course subbied right away and became the 2nd person to subbie that account 8DDDDD. Well all in short, Karu introduced me to the Akahitoha chorus and then BAM. I find out about YTC ;>. Although I bothered Rinny a lot about it ;>>>. Hey but finding out about YTC had its highs too 8DDD. I got to be in one of the first choruses so I can live without any more regrets ;>. I also get to see how much YTC grows throughout time now~
And let me tell you. It has come a LONG LONG LONGGGGGGGG way~ ;>
Happy anniversary YTC!

Re: What's Your Story?
So. Time to write my story, huh?
I was travelling abroad with a couple of friends and a dog named Pico, which barked happily whenever I announced the word Angel(quite strange, I know). We came upon a glorious land called Japan and decided to learn the customs and trends that were currently popular. While singing at one of the small buildings they had there, we came upon this song called Love is War. It was a really cool song, I must admit, and it made me reminisce about the times I spend along with a talking blue panda while running across the beach (though I might have been high on sugar or something back then). Coming back home, we searched it up on Youtube, and HUZZAH! We learned of the existance of Vocaloids. I, myself, decided to delve deeper into the existance of Vocaloids, and eventually found a great song that was called Just be Friends (Chorus)...or so I remember anyways. Maybe it was Dear You (Chorus)? It was by the Nico Nico chorus, and in the comment section below, there were many people crying about how America should have a chorus like this. Eventually, a viewer suggested the holy miracle called YTChorus, which was a Chorus that was apparently pretty good. I checked it out, checked the website, and fell in love with the concept. And now, here I am, spending countless hours on this website with the account Darkangel (see, it all ties together) Pico now lives outside in his doghouse where is constantly pampered, and my friends all went their seperate ways, some moving to Japan and some simply vanished. I continue following vocaloids, spending years learning the complex songs. I hope that one day, I can meet that blue panda again. HE'S REAL DON'T JUDGE ME.

Re: What's Your Story?
FOr me, I got into Vocaloid with songs that a friend of mine kept posting.
As for how I got into YTC..........
it all started out in 7th grade, when I got a portable CD player for christmas. I didn't really have any interest in the thing, since I had no decent CDs. I eventually got some, and would sing along in the car, and my parents liked my singing, so I took voice lessons for a bit until school took over and I couldn't keep up with them. It crashed down then. My younger sister got a CD player of her own, and would sing along with it horribly. I always drowned her out, and she'd always buy the same CDs as me (which were all teenybopper trash at the time). Eventually I got into more decent music, got NOW CDs, and later, an Ipod. Thankfully she couldn't afford an ipod, so now she can't get the same music as me...but her music tastes got worse. All of hers was teenybopper trash, Disney Cash Cow sh*t, and KidZ Bop. Around then was when I was madly downloading all the Vocaloid songs I could get my hands on, so I'd have more than just Sonic the Hedgehog soundtracks and a few top 40 songs. Things went downhill after that, my parents blatently said they'd rather hear my sister belting nasty S@#! then me singing decent songs. Every time she would literally belt out a note with all the force of her voice, while I'm silently mouthing lyrics, I would tell her to be quiet, and my mom would say that I was 10 times louder instead of telling her to shush (I eventually invested in noise cancelling headphones after that)
After my parents blatently rejected my natural talent for my mentally retarded sister's fail-ness, I basically didn't sing for anyone but myself. I would always lip sync in the car, and would sing alone in my room, along to Vocaloid videos. I even sang along with the Vocaloids that I downloaded, because unlike my parents, they're just computers, and they won't suddenly synthesize the words "your sister is better than you" or "you suck" unless you put them in yourself.
Eventually while browsing Nicochorus vids, and wishing to be one of those singers, since they're well respected, I found YTC. I subscribed, and then I joined the site whenever their Melt audition came up (WHERE THE MF H E DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS IS THE AUDITION RESULTS FOR THAT!?). Right now I just hope people will respect my singing despite me utterly failing on high notes.
As a side note, sure I took chorus in high school, but parents seemed to ony go to concerts because they didn't wanna look like "bad parents" (which they are a lot of the time).
And for those of you wondering why I chose to become a singer on YTC as opposed to finding an agent, it's simple. While I may be famous, I don't need 20 billion people nagging me to become a size 0 in 20 days. I like being a size 22 or whatever I am right now

Re: What's Your Story?
After reading everyone else's interesting and touching beginnings, I feel like sharing mine (though it's not interesting or touching).
- Spoiler:
- Let’s see now, I guess I should start off with how I got into singing. That began from my Nico Medley Obsession period, which was about 2 years ago. After discovering the Kumikyoku, I began to love those medleys and listened to a lot of them. That also includes the chorus versions, which I thought were pretty amazing. Not only did these medleys make me want to watch some the anime featured in them, but it also started my random humming around the house (which led to my singing). Then I started to do research on the individual songs featured in the medleys. One of the first ones I looked up was Meltdown, as I really liked how it sounded in the medley. From there, I learned more about Vocaloid and some other songs. (I actually first heard of Vocaloid when my brother showed me The World is Mine on iTunes, but I wasn’t exactly sure what it was.) After looking up Meltdown, I found Melt and Just Be Friends, and all three of these songs have a special place in my heart. That is what sparked my interest in Vocaloid..
After I watched many choruses and covers of many songs (about last year), I began to randomly sing around the house, thus starting my Singing period. Then on June 24 2010, I was on AnotherNicoUploader’s Youtube channel and read his profile. There, I saw the link to the Youtube Chorus. I was like “There’s a Youtube Chorus? I need to see!” (The funny thing is that I actually watched YTChorus’s Romeo and Cinderella Chorus before, but I thought it was a Nico Chorus.) I was astonished how young the Youtube Chorus was, seeing that it wasn’t even a year old, but I watched the choruses and I knew that it was something to keep an eye on. Then I saw the audition info video for Melt. I was like, “I should really try out for this” since it is one of my favorite songs. I was so hyped (even though I thought that I didn’t have the equipment needed to record) that I could barely sleep, so I decided to practice the song. The next day, June 25, I learned of a way to record, using my sister’s computer and webcam as a mic. From there, I went to work (for the whole day) and finished my first actual cover (though it wasn’t really good). Then the next day, June 26, I joined the Youtube Chorus Forum and posted my audition. And that’s how I began to sing and live with the Youtube Chorus. I have met many great singers, people, and friends here, and I love the community so much. I can’t wait to see what will happen in the future.

Re: What's Your Story?
Oh I never saw this topic before~
I didn't really sing much D: What got me into singing was once I started listening to songs in other languages. The reason was... Well, they're really fun to say. Forget the fact I have no clue what the meaning of the lyrics is, it's just so fun to sing along with them! I don't sing many slow pretty sings, I sing the fast ones xD
VOCALOID was great because I found a lot of covers, so I decided to start doing my own.
I quickly realized a lot of singing is the same as playing an instrument: Breathe from the stomach, not the chest, for example. So I already knew the basics :'D
EDIT: "orz no pretty badge for me? 3':

Re: What's Your Story?
uh...Rin-chan...I don't want a badge, because...ehhh gender-specific things are not for me...
Okay, well...basically, I was looking for refs because I was in an artistic slump. I found and Alice Human Sacrifice base, and got curious. I ended up getting into the music, but quickly moved to the obscure end of the spectrum. Then I found out about covers, and my lovely Gakky encouraged me, I wanted to find a dub group, and I found the Kagome Kagome auditions. I tried, and, well I joined the fourm. I then wound up leaving due to depression. Now I'm back. yep :/
