EDIT 2: totally forgot to include a reason 8D  i'm chinese and my family speaks cantonese, although i was born and raised in england, so although english is technically my second language, my cantonese is terrible xD  i speak enough just to get by in casual conversations.  however, i went with canto for this month's theme as it's still my mother tongue.

Well I'm Vietnamese, that's why I sang it in Vietnamese XD The reason I chose this song because I think it sounds lovely in Vietnamese and Let it Go just has a wonderful message that I love.

Just out of curiosity and as a general question someonemighthavealreadyaskedthisOTL, am I allowed to play a song with an instrument as long as it fits the theme and is longer than a certain time?

Yep, as long as the song fits the theme OR is a traditional instrument from your country ;D / and is long enough.

Question! Does the following count? =O

1) Can I make a vocaloid sing in english? (like I'll do the tuning, mixing ect.) or does it have to be me singing?
2) Can the song has some japanese part in it? (80% of the song is in english though)

I am born and raised in the Philippines which has the Roots of singing Mellow type of songs. Saihate the Ballad version got me hooked so i asked Giu (The Ikemen) to translyric the song  while i did the tweaking lol and so here's the output!

Kagi and my entry for this month :D


Hello! This is カギ/Kagi's and my cover of Infernal Affairs for YTChorus's monthly theme, Roots! We went with Cantonese and Mandarin because Kagi speaks Cantonese and I speak Mandarin. To reflect that we are both from the Chinese heritage, we sang some of the lines together in either Cantonese and Mandarin. This was to show that despite language differences, China is still one country and we all share the same heritage.

bubu... I really wanna participate but because of exams I have no time to record anything right now; however, 2 weeks ago I did sing something in my own language! Would that still counted as a valid entry?

So...here it is! Made a duet with Meiko and throwing all the engrish for her to sing   
I've always been waiting for Meiko's V3 voicebank after Kaito's release, and lucky thing they made her voice pretty solid, compared to Kaito who only got soft voicebanks ;_;

The only languages I could choose from are Canto, Mando and English. Although I love my country very much, I usually don't sing stuff besides Japanese simply because I'm not much into music outside of the anime genre.  
Anyways, since I got my Canadian citizenship this month, why don't I do something in English?=)
 I would have sung the whole thing myself buuuuut....since I got a super ugly engrish accent, I would avoid singing/speaking english in covers at all cost----that's why I have Meiko sing for me this time. She truly is magic. ヽ(*゜∀゜*)ノ

Here is my entry for the monthly theme!

I chose this song because even though I am half Black/Filipino, I never learned Tagalog. It has always bothered me my entire life. Every time I made an attempt to learn, i was always laughed at by my mom and her friends. So, I'm taking pride in knowing I was taught at least one of my native languages and created the English lyrics of the song and covered it. My mind was telling me I should, so this is what happens when I listen to my mind. I'm using it as a way to reach out to my mother and let her know how important something like a language can be to someone.

My parents are both from Shanghai, China, so I can sort of understand the Shanghai dialect; however, since I was a spoiled brat and did not go to Chinese school, I barely know any Mandarin. I consider English to be my true native language since I am much more fluent in it than any other language and mainly speak it at home as well. xD I figured it was appropriate, as a Chinese American, to sing a song related to China in English.

this is one of my favorite songs, and the girl originally singing it (Veronica Maggio) is one of my fave singers :'3 There's something really?? fragile??? about her voice that I love a lot.... Her live version of this song is just stunning cause her voice carries so much emotion that im just aksjbda && Since I love emotional songs I decided to give it a shot ehehe
Maggio songs in general are really hard to cover cause she sounds amazing & is already perfect for her songs ;u; but since this is a piano version and stuff i!! decided that it doesnt really matter if my voice is different from hers or not ehehe
