Question about iMovie...

I recently got a Mac and I really want to use GarageBand and iMovie for my fandubs. I pretty much got the basics of using those programs but I have one question about iMovie.

Can you like mute the video and only let the audio play? For example, if I download a PV of a song and want to use that for a fandub, is there a way to make only my recording of the song play? I'm sorry if this sounds confusing...

Err... You could try extracting then deleting the audio from the video portion.

And how do I do that?

actually, (since i was just using imovie myself ;3) there are 2 ways to do it, one just hides the audio and one actually deletes it... The first all you need to do is double click on the video clip and then reduce the volume of the clip to 0. The other way is to select the video clip, then going to Edit and click Detach Audio, then delete the audio that detaches...
