A Forgotten Fairytale Empty A Forgotten Fairytale

This is kinda based off of Kingdom Hearts. You have been warned

A Forgotten Fairytale

Once upon a time, there was a forgotten princess, left behind in a large castle. Her long blonde hair was always flowing down her back, and some of it hung in her sparkling blue eyes. A simple white dress covered her fragile frame. All alone, day after day, the forgotten princess sat in her forgotten room in the forgotten castle. Colorful pictures dotted the walls of her room, and a few were sprawled out on the table in the center of the room. She never went outside of the castle, because she was afraid of the sky. Day and night the princess feared that one day something would fall from it and destroy the place she called home.

This forgotten castle once was home to nine people, although no one had ever known of the ninth person. Although it was not very lively, the princess was hardly ever alone. One of the other people that lived in the castle was almost always with her. Even when she was alone, she wasn’t truly alone. The ninth person was always watching over her while in his deep sleep.

Seven of the nine were killed a man with long silver hair, and glowing green eyes. Instead of helping the princess and the others in the castle in their hour of need, the man attacked her “friends”, while she hid in a room small room in the basement. After wiping out the princesses friends, the man left the castle. Days afterwards, the princess came out of her hiding place, and searched the castle for any sign of life. Sadly, she found none. The girl stared at the door to the outside, not knowing what to do. Weeks later, the lonely princess sat down on a chair in her room, and started to draw. For years, all she did was draw and sleep. She didn’t require rood, for she was not whole. She was only half a person. She was simply a shell. The princess had no heart, and no organs, only brain. She could feel nothing. Not happiness or sadness. Not fear or excitement. Not even love.

One day, the princess got up from her chair, and slowly walked towards the door. It had been years since she had left her room, and she decided to walk through the castle like she used too before the silver haired man came. The door creaked as the forgotten girl pushed it opened. Nothing had changed. Everything was white. The chairs had not been moved, and no doors had been open. As she ventured forward, the princess recalled her memories of the seven people who had once walked the halls with her. Although, they were not whole either. They were just shells, like her. When they needed to react to something, they simply called upon their memories of when they did have hearts, and acted off of that. Almost all of the beings wished that they were whole, and would do anything to gain a heart, except for one. The ninth person was content without his heart. He knew that it would return to him soon. A long time ago he had given it to a boy, who he knew would help the people that were sad.

As the girl walked, she tried to remember her name. The name she had before she had lost her heart. As she searched her memories, she noticed that whenever someone said her name, she couldn’t hear them. It was like her name had been erased from her memories. The forgotten girl stopped trying after a while, and left her legs take her where they wanted to go.

Minutes turned to hours, and soon the girl was in a part of the castle that she didn’t remember seeing. She was in a hallway in the basement, standing in front of a large white door. Quickly the girl called on her memories to see what she should do, and an image of a girl opening a strange looking door popped into her head. Slowly the forgotten girl grasped the handle, and pulled open the heavy door.

The room wasn’t much different from the rest of the castle. It was white, and circular. In the center was a large throne. Asleep on the throne, was the ninth person that lived in the castle. His dirty blond hair was messy, and pars of it hung in his closed eyes. He wore a black and white jacket over a black shirt, and had green, blue, and red armor covering his left arm. His pants had different shade of black and white on them, and his shoes were also armored.

Cautiously, the forgotten girl approached the boy. The closer she got the more familiar the boy got, as if he was a forgotten dream. The seconds that it took for the girl to make her way to the sleeping boy seemed like years. Each step seemed to take days to complete. Finally, she was in front of the boy. Slowly she reached out to him. After her hand made contact the sleeping boy’s eyes fluttered open, and the girl took a step back in surprise. The boy’s eyes were the color of the sky.

He stood up from his chair, with a dazed expression, “A…ri…a? Aria?”

The forgotten girl’s eyes widened as the holes in her memory filled in. She had known this boy, and her name had been Aria.

Slowly the boy extended his hand and the forgotten princess, Aria, took his hand. They began to dance to the sound of their footsteps on the hard ground. No more words were spoken between them.

When the time to leave came, Aria simply stopped dancing and left, leaving the boy pretending to be confused, as if he still had a heart. As she slipped into her bed, Aria decided to visit the boy again the next day.

Aria’s eyes fluttered open, and she immediately jumped out of bed and ran out of her room, remembering what it had been like to be happy. As she threw open the door to the boy’s room, she herself to smile. Sure enough, the boy was sitting on his throne. The boy patted the space next to him, offering Aria a seat. Slowly she approached the chair then sat down. No words were spoken between them that day either.

It became a daily routine for the two. Everyday when she woke up, Aria would go down to the boy’s room, and she would wither sit next to him, or dance, but they would never talk.

One day when Aria went down to the basement, someone else was there. It was a translusant version of the silver haired man who had killed off everyone, besides Aria and the boy who had lived in the castle.
A gasp escaped Aria’s lips, and she instantly regretted it. The silver haired man whipped around. His eyes narrowed when he saw the girl that had escaped him last time.

In one swift movement, the man threw his sword at Aria. As it sailed threw the air, the boy yelled at Aria to run, but she did not listen. Seconds later it priced her chest.

“My job here is done,” The man said cruelly, then turned to the boy, “you will be proof of my existence, boy.”

Quickly the man faded into nothing, as if he had simply been a shadow. By the time the man was gone, Aria was too. Without her heart, her body simply vanished when she died.

“If this heart was supposed to help people… Why can’t it help me?” The boy yelled as a tear ran down his face.
