So, when recording in Audacity and when I'm done, there are two things that happen. YOU HAVE WITNESSED PROBLEMS.
① the recording isn't on the center. When the recording isn't in the center, I can always normalize it, but I'm kinda... tired of doing that. |D /shot ② There are background noises even when I covered my laptop's old age whining. (my laptop is VERY old. back in '07. I wanna get a new one but I don't like the Windows 8. I don't like the start screen. \\)
I don't mind about the mono thingy but if you can fix that so it can be stereo, it'd be nice too! (｡´∀｀)ﾉ
mk. so how do I fix those 2 problems? o: please help~~

About the mono, see where it says mono for input? On the right, lowest row, next to microphone? You should be able to change that to stereo. Although I've heard that mono is better for recording since you don't have to worry about the recording being too heavy on one side/panning.

there won't be as much depth though from the sounds of it. Up to you. XD I know if you position your mix properly, stereo is no longer a problem, but I have noticed mixers asking for mono.

hmm. ever since using it on mono, I though it was better with both size and less problems. cx

Wait what, do you want it in mono or stereo now? I'm confused. Thought you wanted it in stereo, sounds like you want it in mono after all? @@

And please don't double post, you can just combine the two quotes into one.

I can do that? lol /shot h-how do I do that? Orz

and I'm just going to stick with mono. ||D when I record, it comes up as mono but I didn't know how to turn into stereo. Thanks anyway.

You just need two tabs open, quote the two posts individually, then copy and paste the info from one quote post into the other quote post. Or you can just do something like @Username: so they know who you are talking to. xD

So I was looking around for your actual problem, and it looks like normalizing it is the only thing you really can do. Well, the Normalize effect, but choosing the option Remove off-set, and unchecking Normalize. That or upgrading your sound card. :/ Seems to be some kind of issue with how your sound is getting recorded and how it's getting transferred from analog to digital.
