Techniques to practice songs
Starting this topic here cuz idk where it should go. (plus ChitChat is more viewed than others)
What are you techinques to learn songs?
Mine are: Listen to the song over and over again till its stuck in my head =w=
and slowing down the tempo down in a song to get each word just write -w-.
So what are some of yours?

Re: Techniques to practice songs
Perhaps this might go in the General Help section?
Anyway, an important thing for me before I start practicing a song, is to actually like it. If I don't like what I'm singing, then it just feels like a chore, and it's really uncomfortable work.

Re: Techniques to practice songs
I put it on my iPod.
And I really have to like it, and it has to be catchy, and singable.
(Ura-omote lovers is nice, catchy but not singable ;w;)
and yes. this belongs in the general help section. And doesn't already a thread like this excist?

SING ALONG AND LEARN AS I GO 8D
I'm kinda just the GO FOR IT learner XD
but if it's a hard song like Ura-omote lovers then I'll practice and practice till i get it right.
I end up memorizing the lyrics somehow because I look at them so much while singing.
I'm kinda hopeless on most songs without lyrics XD

Re: Techniques to practice songs
For me, I listen to the song over and over again.
Then I look up the lyrics and read along with the singer over and over again.
Then I sing the lyrics along with the singer.
It kinda helps if I really like the song I'm singing~ XD
But if I'm lazy, then I just sing the song without much learning until I either got it right or I get tired and quit... >_>; And I'm lazy most of the time orz

Re: Techniques to practice songs
If I'm excited to record the song, I record it after hearing and learning every stanza.
HEAR...LEARN...RECORD, stanza1
HEAR...LEARN...RECORD, stanza 2
but if I'm busy, I put them in iPod and learn the song until I find time to record...

Re: Techniques to practice songs
memorize the rythm and the tune/melody of the song to a point that you can leave your media player on and go do something while humming the song in perfect sync even though you can't hear it. You can do that easily by listening to the song a few bijillion time :D all that's left is the lyric

Re: Techniques to practice songs
I listen to
Yoppei or
Gurutamin sing it.
Or listen to a mash-up of it and a song I
already know.
Improv-ing like a BOSS when first recording
helps a lot.

Re: Techniques to practice songs
I listen to the song over and over again, till I memorize a melody.
I look into a lyrics and follow them with singing, but I'm doing it only few times ><
Then I try to sing it.
If I can't get some words right/the song is fast, I read the lyrics loud without the melody.
And afterwards I'm just singing it over and over again till I master it.
In result I also memorize some of the lyrics 8D' But usually not all of them -shot-

Re: Techniques to practice songs
1. When I like a song - I look up lyrics and try to tag along~
2. when I still like that song~ I take out lyrics and rewrite them so I will not stumble over rhythm~
3. sing + record to listen whether it works out or not~
4. practise stanza 1, 2 etc. while recording to keep track on how it sounds~
:>

Re: Techniques to practice songs
1. Well I just listen to the song I'm trying to sing over and over again (This also means listening to the same song for 48 hours and leaving it on while I sleep)
2. Put the lyrics on my iTouch so I can have it wherever I go
3. PRACTICEPRACTICEPRACTICE
