Recording with dynamic mics?

yeah... I think you better install RealTek. I don't know whether it will conflict with your other audio driver though.

Couldn't install the Realtek drivers. Updated the SB live! 24 bit drivers but it didn't work either. I even tried connecting my mic to a guitar amp and then to the computer but the volume wasn't enough either. I think I might need to get one of those usb interface things. I have to put off singing like a week or so now... =/

The volume is possibly due to the fact that since it's a dynamic microphone not designed to be used just in the mic jack of a computer, the analogue -> digital waves are fairly weak.

You're going to need to invest in an Audio Interface to work with the microphone. If you ask me, those are the things that kill - not the microphone itself 8D;;;;;;

Oh, I have something similar. I actually have a Lexicon Omega pack that came with a AKG D88S Dynamic Mic and free Cubase software. owo

I just googled that and that USB interface looks awesome! I'm not exactly sure what those knobs do but surely more is better, haha.
And since mine's around your price, hopefully it will sound as good as your recordings :X
