Otome Games

So, has anyone played any otome games lately? Oh, maybe I should define what an otome game is for those who don't know.

Otome Games... well, the best way I can put it is: They're like dating sims, but are directed more towards female gamers, therefore, are more likely to have female protagonists. I think BL games fall into the Otome Game category too, but I'm not sure...

Anyway, that's not the exact definition, but that's the best I can define it. I'm actually taking a break from Otome Games ~~again~~, but I don't mind talking about them. 8')

I've recently fallen in love with Honeybee's Starry Sky Otome Game Series. Starry Sky, originally composed of drama CD's, has four otome games (got tired of pressing the shift button), where the protagonist (default name, Tsukiko), transfers to a once all-boys school (forgot the name), and you, the player, can choose between three guys in each game. Their personalities are based off of the Western Zodiac, though, the months are a bit off...

Anyways, it's rather fun to listen to the voice actors and watch the CG's (though it can get tiring after a while), but luckily, you can skip through everything even if you haven't read the text. 8')

My favorite character would have to be Kanakubo Homare from Starry Sky ~in Summer~, as he's a Taurus, and a kind and caring senpai! *v* I'm also a Taurus, so I had immediate interest in him.. xD

Oh, but I'm currently in the middle of, and taking a break from, Garnet Cradle. The CG art is very pretty, and I got to experience being in the presence of the game's HOTNESS which is Sariya (WHOOO~....=///= ).

Also, in this topic, I would suggest that there wouldn't be any detailed talk about any H-18 games, as many might find it an uncomfortable topic. Keep pictures under a spoiler thingy-- -shot- Okay, it feels weird to add rules like this... I'ma just stop.

I just hope I can find other Otome Gamers...ovo~

Ohhh! Otome-gamer!8'D

Wow, I don't think I've played any of those, though I do know those titles. I've been sticking strictly to PC games, but for now I'm on a hiatus for playing them.

I'm still on my hiatus for Garnet Cradle, but I did try to play Royals. Honestly, Royals was a complete disappointment, so I couldn't bring myself to finish it.

There's this one Otome game I REALLY want to play, but it's for PS2, and I currently don't have enough space on my laptop to download a PS2 emulator to play it. The game is called Lucian Bee's. Something about turning ugly people into pretty people, lol. But the art is absolutely beautiful in it.

I saw a few trailers of Lucian Bee on YT! It looks really good!
I want to try Garnet Cradle as well, since everyone seems to be going on about it... how is it?

i read the manga - and is really tempted to play it now - just so I can get Ace's ending XDD or the cheshire cat <3

Am about to start this one called Kurayami no hate de kimi wo matsu - you're stuck in a building with a bunch of guys, trying to escape from a murderder - sounds pretty interesting - I'll update you guys on how it is

^ There is one - that's quite rare - called Yo-jin-bo - I've never played it, but it's japanese made and released in english. It's the only one that's anywhere close enough to true otome games I think...
other "otome" games in english include - princess debut and my boyfriend(does that one even count?! D:
I haven't tried my boyfriend, but it looks really kiddy - and princess debut.... is a disgrace... the english translation made her sound really bratty... and I don't think it's an otome game in the proper sense...

I'm looking to start translating Hiiro no Kakera takuma, mahiro, yuuichi, and shinji route.... but since it's so text heavy, I've no idea when I'll be able to finish - will post a link if I ever get round to it

Hiiro no Kakera is also available for PS2 - as are most other DS games I should think...

i finished Princess Debut, in one day, it´s really childish.
But still the best one i could find till now.
also i finished Yo~Jin~Bo today.
But i thought it was really simple for a computer game. ) :

it could have been much better. lots of talking and not enough doing.
it´s like reading a book with a vew options for a diffrent ending.
I also downloaded My Boyfriend, but that just looked terrible. hmm...

cannot really call that an otome game xD
wish there were more english ones! so i could play them shy

:O I love otome games long time, but I use a mac, which limits the games I can play down to... really little ;A; I wish I could play other ones *cries*

@Alice: Try Re:Alistair? It's the first thing that pops into my mind when it comes to English otome games :D

I'm not good enough at Japanese to be able to read all the kanji. So usually, I'll stick to those with Voice actors X).

I love Tokimeki Memorial Girls' side 1st love plus. It's fully voiced except yourself.

I haven't complete the game though, I intend to date every single guys inside HAHA! Yes and include the principal and the weird fashion guy. Goro? was it? LOL!
