I sound like some kind of robot...

Um, the thing is, this is my first time recording, and I sound completely robotic. Like, machine's voice. I'm using a Creative headphone, the one with built in mic thingy. My friend bought the same one, but hers doesn't sound that bad... I thought it's my voice's problem (since I'm having a cough), but just yesterday I sang Smiling and magnet with quite a loud voice, and it wasn't at all that....cracked. My friend told me that my voice usually doesn't sound cracked too.

Can anyone help me...? I'm sorry and thanks >_<

Oh, I forgot. I'm using adobe audition, and all I know is to record, play, and stop. And a little bit of silencing or muting parts.

But usually, it's the mic's problem.

I can't record today since there are people at home >.< But i think the problem is the mic.

Is there any way to edit the audio...? Or if i want to try to audition, I should just submit it the way it is?

Try warming up your voice before you use the mic.

Maybe you're singing too loud and your mic is "peaking" where it can't handle such a loud volume and sounds like the recording cracks. It makes a slightly fuzzy sound, but doesn't sound completely robotic. Maybe you're just not used to hearing your "recorded" singing voice?

I guess... I'll just give it a try first.
