Rage's Rockin' Covers and Fancy Fandubs
What's up, guys? Rage here, just wanted to share some of my fandubs and covers with you guys. As I said in my introduction, most of the songs are upbeat rock songs and I write translyrics for pretty much every song I do, though I may start doing some in Japanese later on down the road. Anyway, take a listen and let me know what you think.
I think I'll start off with my first really good cover. Even now, I never get tired of listening to it.

This was a fun one to do since I got to speed rap, even though I was a total noob at reverb at the time.
Re: Rage's Rockin' Covers and Fancy Fandubs
With this song, I began to develop what I call my Infinite Rhyme Scheme style.
Re: Rage's Rockin' Covers and Fancy Fandubs
To be honest, I used to have mixed feelings about this one, but I guess we're all our biggest critics. In hindsight, I'm glad I didn't delete it.
Re: Rage's Rockin' Covers and Fancy Fandubs
And because I did that one, I also did this one.

I've got plenty more on my channel and a bunch more in the works but, for now, I'll call it a day with my bravest and most tiring fandub to date.

Hiya!
I really like your blue bird cover! Your voice is very suitable for songs like these ^^
Although, some of the high notes seemed a little shaking, overall it was a pleasant cover to listen too ^^ Keep it up!

Haha, yeah. I kind of rushed Blue Bird since it was one of the only good vocal days I'd had in a while. Thanks for listening, though.

With this song, I have begun the journey into full-fledged YouTaite territory. Special thanks to MiGoi for singing lead on it.

Hi rage :3 It's time for my feeback~ yaaaayy -w-
Okay so I reviewed Blue Bird mainly because this was the one I was most familiar with. I did take a look with the other ones as well, but I have my deduction pretty much the same with all of them. Your emotion and your vocal range are amazingly powerful. One thing though I do agree with Eimi that your high notes seem a little uncomforting in these. I've heard you belt it in the karaoke room with more omph than these covers and so I know you're perfectly capable of reaching them with no problems. Another thing I'm having problems with is that your back vocals are too drowned out by your music. I can tell they're there but I can't hear what they're saying. It sounds very muffled. I'm not sure how you record when you do your back vocals but I suggest to step back a few paces in your room or where ever you are and sing along with your main voice at the same volume just not so close to your mic?
You've got a great voice especially for the jrock genre. And I wanna hear that guitar and piano with your voice one day ;D

Re: Rage's Rockin' Covers and Fancy Fandubs
I think most of the issue with the background vocals is because of YouTube compression dropping the volume of my voice. With Flame it dropped the whole thing by several decibels. That said, I usually have to fight from keeping them from obscuring the melody since BGVs tend to jump out at me, so maybe the fact that I tend to keep them at a barely audible volume is another factor. I'll just have to keep that in mind from now on.
As for my high notes, the fact of the matter is that my voice has been improving very quickly over the last several months. Before I started my channel, my voice used to waver and go flat all the time, so I'm glad it's gotten this much better.
Unfortunately, this means that there can be quite a discrepancy between earlier and later recordings when it comes to how good my vocals are. How ironic that you thought my high notes sounded better in the karaoke room, Mami. All this time, I thought they were worse than in the recordings. Guess I've only been able to see the flaws when I sang in the karaoke room.
Maybe I just didn't notice the wavering before, but I can hear it now. Haruka Kanata's probably the worst example, but that song was so hard that I was glad to just be able to stay on pitch. Anyway, thanks for all the feedback. I really do appreciate it.
