Re: Under the bed collections and stuffs!(´・ω・`)
Hey checked Jougen no Tsuki since it's one of my favorites. >w<
So the first thing I noticed is that you're.. off-pitch a lot? You seem to be changing keys, too. I would listen to the song a bit more so that you're more familiar with the pitches. Maybe also compare it to the on-vocal when you are mixing, too? Because right now in some parts it doesn't sound like the original song, especially around the choruses and the bridge.
There was also a timing issue right before the first and second chorus, too. And also around 2:29. It sounds like you're.. improvising there, too? Melody-wise, at least?
If you were messing with it on purpose though then, that's more understandable. It sounds like you're trying to add your own flair in a few parts, like around 1:40ish, which is really cool~
Also, that VA at the beginning was adorable.
I think if you can work on your pitch more and improve your ear, it'll be a lot better. Hope this didn't come off as too harsh though. If I remember right, you're still a beginner, right? So you've got lots of room to grow and lots of time! Best of luck in your future covers. >w<

Re: Under the bed collections and stuffs!(´・ω・`)
Time to start learning how to critic... XD
I've listened to all of them but I'll only talk about 3~ Your voice is adorable ^^
Ok, Jougen no Tsuki cause it's the first one on the list. I haven't heard the original so I can't say much about the pitch and timing.
That voice acting at the beginning made me think that you were Japanese, it sounds really natural :D
This could be a mic problem but it seems quite muffled, it's a bit hard to differenciate each word. I'm not really sure how to explain this but "lift your soft palette" I hear a lot of people say, that place at the back of your mouth, it kinda feels like opening up your throat? It'll help you sing clearer and more powerful.
Another thing I hear is that, your voice sometimes goes soft and then loud?
Other than that, you are great at hitting those high notes~
Owari no Sekai Kara is one of my favourite songs <3 This is a good cover.
I picked up that you are getting slightly softer at the high notes. That's fine~ just build up on your range over time so you can sing them stronger. ^^
This cover is clearer that the Jougen no Tsuki cover, I can hear that you aren't connecting the words as much as in the Jougen no Tsuki one so it's easier to differenciate syllables here.
I can also hear you are singing the "wo" and "he", this is probably due to the romaji lyrics being commonly written like that. Wo is just "o" and he is just "e" when pronoucing them. The rest of the pronunciation is great.
The timing is slightly off so listen to the song a couple more times~
For Lost Time Memory, the mixing and singing has improved a lot~
I can hear the mic having trouble picking up the louder vocals, that happens to me as well so don't worry~ I'll suggest you turn down the recording level so it doesn't record as loudly.
You've done some adlibs which are great
Your singing is much clearer as well~
2:52, where the lines overlap, you should separate them and record in different tracks so they would connect.
The ending XD
I hope I made sense...
Good job ^^ You sound great~ Continue improving :D

Re: Under the bed collections and stuffs!(´・ω・`)
I think with some places, it's fine to go your own style as long as it's within the same key and also in the appropriate places. There have been some really great improvisations in the past where people would combine the harmo and melo and make it awesome (Chase's GLIDE is an amaaaaazing example).
However, right now, I'd probably work on pitch a bit more? >w< The parts where I'm talking about adding your own flair are more at like, the endings of a line, where you choose how you interpret it.
As for power, I wouldn't worry as much about it at least for Jougen no Tsuki. I think it was fine power-wise because it is a slower song and doesn't need anything like belting. In fact, belting would be kind of weird for this song. xD

Re: Under the bed collections and stuffs!(´・ω・`)
PLEASE DON'T BE INTIMIDATED BY THE LENGTH OF THE POST, IT'S ALL TIPS DON'T WORRY BBY //WINKWINK
Okay how to critics hmmmmmmm.......
I listened to your Tokyo Teddy bear cover and I noticed that you actually have a beautiful voice C:
First of all, I will congratulate you for improving the pitch control in the song, yayy!! You should still work on it though. C:
Because the pitch defines the quality of the cover so even if you have a raspy, a airy, a loli voice or even a Squiward-like or a Mr.Krabs-like voice and sing a song on pitch the song will sound way better than a person who has a beyonce voice but is totally tone deaf, just saying. C:
I don't know any quick-fix tip that could help you be on pitch, it's all about practice. What I can suggest is to do vocal warm up exercises because they work on arpeggios and scales which could help you place notes here and there when you sing, it's a longterm exercise but i'm pretty sure it's worth it. But what I recommend is solfege to work on it. If you have a piano, you can play melodies and sing along, slowly and making sure every note you sing sounds right (make sure your piano is tuned though). It's laborious but don't lose hope. 10 minutes a day is all you need ^_^
I read that you want a more powerful voice anndd yesss you can actually have power :DDD
I noticed that you don't project your voice and somewhat keep it inside when you sing. So try this : Face the wall or something/someone and stand about 2-5 feet away. So the thing is that you have to make sure the recipient hears you very well, (and don't scream, it's not the point here LOL) Fix your target, it could be a tiny hole on the wall or a picture, or even a picture of your favorite utaite //winkwink and sing to it, don't just keep your voice for yourself, direct your voice to that target as if you're shooting an arrow. It's about the same concept you use in oral presentations at school too.
Oh right, just saying, don't forget to breathe and sing from your stomach, you'll get more breath support and if you need to work on that try sing in a whispering manner when you practice, it's exhausting but hey, it's part of practice C:
There are a bit of timing issues too but don't worry, I have the same problem too and my friend liked to point that out when he mixed a cover of mine //cries
Just keep on practising and try to match with an on-vocal to see if there's anything wrong and correct it. We all learn from mistakes anyway. I've seen some singers do is clap their hands or snap their fingers to keep track of the beat and sing along with it, if that could help you.
So yayyy! I hope I helped you lots, I'll cheer for you!! ^_^
Good Luck !! :D

Re: Under the bed collections and stuffs!(´・ω・`)
That's nice than you have a better mic now~ Yep ^^ If you think about it, opening your throat would let more sound come out. (I'm not sure if that's the real reason though XDD) I don't have any techniques that would help you improve on this, but I'll be looking out for some since I sometimes do that too.Lennessia wrote:@Yuriques

Yep, raising your range would make it easier to sing those notes therefore making it stronger. Everyone would have to learn it at some point, I took quite a while XD~
It depends on the mic, better ones would not have this problem, since I'm still using a built in mic in my laptop, it happens to me too. It's kinda difficult to sing powerful songs for this reason ;A; //pat pat// You are improving very quickly ^^ Yep, something like that, so you sing Modoranai, holding that note and then stop recording and then add an new track and then sing the Ano hi ga slightly before the end of the previously line so it can connect. Then you switch back to the previous track and continue with the next line switch back and forth~ If you sung it all in one go, you'll need a lot of breath XD I do it quite a lot for fast songs where there is hardly anywhere to take breaths.
You're welcome >w<
Re: Under the bed collections and stuffs!(´・ω・`)
For Lost-Time Memory, I love your adlibs in the instrumental. But some parts where you're trying to catch the lyrics up to the song seemed a rushed, so timing can be improved. Try warming up before you sing and get familiar with the song more, sing line after line with the song, or if that can't be helped then using pitching. (^o^)b I also loved your soft voices in the bridge as well as the beginning part.
I like how you became loli for Uchi e Kaerou. Again, it's the pitching. ; o ; Pitching is really important so try your best to hit the notes or resort to tuning ;m;
THAT DADDY'S VOICE IN MAGNET IS REALLY FAMILIAR THOUGH I FEEL LIKE I'VE HEARD HIM BEFORE. But that the volume is a problem, it's not levelled. The overall volume went soft and loud at some parts where it didn't build up well. That could also be the mixing problem. The voices in Magnet is also too soft with the bgm covering it up ;o; I don't wanna abuse the pitching part again QAQ you did pretty well in magnet though
For suggestions in mixing, I'd suggest to add some compression and put in some Equalization/EQ to make the voice blend with the bgm and make the frequencies level. And time it, timing is also important QAQ. As for singing,ai-suuwhydoyoualwyasnagaboutharmosandadlibs you can add harmonies. If you dont know how to you can learn through those youtube singing lessons videos. I see you've attempted adlibs in the instrumental breaks. They're good, but some of them don't blend well like in Lost Time Memory's bridge, you went a little too high. Try to test around different notes to see which one blends with the bgm for adlibs. You can also mix in separate tracks for adlibs to blend it in with the singing at the same time.
Hopefully this has helped you. PLEASE DONT KILL ME FOR THE CRITICS OKAY I DIDNT MEAN TO BASH YOU QAQ

YES I WANT A POWERFULL VOICE!Oh,i see!OAO..to be honest,i still dont understand on how to breath from the stomach orz..
Ah,thank you for pointing that out!Well,i got a question..when you recording something is it better with offvocal or with onvocal ?
Thank you for the support!:D
@yuriques:Hm,i see..does opening my mouth as wide as i can improve the vocal?o-o?Oh,i see oAo so its happens to you as well?
How long it took you?one month?or more?
yeah, when i recording with my old mic,its really hard to sing songs that need a strong voice ;A;.Haha,i always tends to one shot then if one of the lyric fail to match with the song i delete all and redo again :'D~
@Ice elf:FAIRY ARE HERE!!!/slapped
..Woah,so many people liked the adlibs o-o.Waiiitt..pitching?Thank you~
:"D AHAHAHA BECOME LOLI-..i cant do tuning orz ;w;
WOAH REALLY?!WHERE?!My duet partner voice when i recevied his record was..pretty low and he didnt have time to redo again and again,i was forced to do that :'D,i try my best tho to have his voice to be heared despite the loud bgm.
Well,up until now i never bother to add some compression and EQ to my cover, but recently i used it since..i guess i finally realized it was helping :"D.Well,i havent learn harmonies though, but i try to do practice it when i have time tho 0w0.Oh okay!i understand~

Mmm You could practice with the on-vocal, then you sing on the off-vocal and then you play the on-vocal with your singing when you sang over the off-vocal to compare LOL sorry it's a bit confusing xD
