Hiii~ So I checked out your newest cover, Karakuri Pierrot! Just going to leave you some feedback.

First off, I think you may have used a biiiit too much reverb on your voice. It makes you sound super echo-y, which doesn't fit the piano of the song and also a bit distracting. Something that puts your voice both closer to the sound and warmer would probably work better.

I like the little voice twists (? if that's what you call them)! They were a nice touch. An example of what I'm talking about is at about umm 1:11. There were a few other places, too. They put a nice KaRei flair to them.

I would also soften your attack on certain syllables, like "boku wo noseTE" and "shiraNAI" at the middle of the song. They came across a bit harsh. I think it would put more emotional impact into the song if you were to soften them up a bit. >w<b It'll vary up your voice a bit, too! Right now, it's coming across a bit monotone.

3:35 "kimi no matsu" what you did there = worked really well! :Db

Also, I'm not sure if it's something you can't fix or not, but some of your syllables sound really slurred together? Especially in the last chorus. Are you able to enunciate more? I have that issue sometimes myself, too, where I think I'm doing okay, but then I go back and hear it and it's like, whoawhatwasIsaying @_@.

There were also a few mild pitch issues, too, but it wasn't super noticeable, except in a few parts. If you want me to point them out though, I can edit my post for you. Either way. Pitch. Ew. How to sing on pitch. Someone please teach me.

Anyway. Hoooooooopefully this was of use! Keep it up! :D

ahhhhhhh thank you for such detailed feedback <3

i've always thought that something sounded a little off to me (it didn't sound like my voice was blending well with the off vocal, in a way?) with the final mix, but i couldn't put my finger on it? xD  and now that you've pointed out, it could've been the reverb xD  i have to admit, this was a rather quick cover, so i just slapped on a lot of reverb and some compression and that was that >___<  i'll try to keep an eye on that next time though!

I like the little voice twists (? if that's what you call them)! They were a nice touch. An example of what I'm talking about is at about umm 1:11. There were a few other places, too. They put a nice KaRei flair to them.

ahh i don't know what they're (the voice twists) called either XD  but thank you!

i didn't notice that before, but i do now >___<  i think it probably ties in a little with my enunciation problem x.x  maybe knowing that i have trouble enunciating, i overcompensate on other syllables? D:  whatever the reason, now that i know i do that, i'll add that to the list of things i have to work on! *^*9

3:35 "kimi no matsu" what you did there = worked really well! :Db

aaaaaand here is a huge problem i know i have >___<  i noticed a long time ago that although i have no problem (that i'm aware of) speaking irl, whenever i speak or sing into a mic, i find that i can't enunciate properly D:  when i sing in english, i find it EXTREMELY noticeable.  i think it's less obvious when i sing in japanese or chinese, but you can still hear it in places.  if you have an idea on how i can improve my enunciation, please do tell QwQ

There were also a few mild pitch issues, too, but it wasn't super noticeable, except in a few parts. If you want me to point them out though, I can edit my post for you. Either way. Pitch. Ew. How to sing on pitch. Someone please teach me.

yes, pitch >__<  another enemy of mine xD  it feels like i've been trying to improve this for some time now but i never feel like i'm getting anywhere D:  i think i really need a vocal coach but i can't afford lessons right now QwQ

Anyway. Hoooooooopefully this was of use! Keep it up! :D

this was very welcome and much needed feedback, thank you again! <3

I listened to your Karakuri Pierrot cover too~ Piano arrangements <3
I'm jealous at your low notes, you do them perfectly >w<

The thing I noticed was that your voice is clear and powerful ^^ That's great however since this is a piano instrumental, I suggest you soften your voice as this piano arrangement sounds very delicate. Your voice feels like it's overpowering the instrumental at some parts like the beginning but the volume is fine for the chorus where it's louder. Like Aerith pointed out as well, some parts are bit too harsh in comparison to the instrumental.

Other than that, there is some slight timing differences.

Great job~ :D

In the aZAwaratetta part, the 'Za' was a little bit off, ;o; you can try pitching it a little or sing that small part again. i know it's troublesome ugh

The tomete-e-e, or what Aer labelled as voice twists were good too. It *emphasizes* the emotions and the lyrics as well as the melody of the song.

I love how you did the 'PIERO' part with a little bit of whine, there was a little bit of switch between the bridge and the belting voice. That adds variety. As this is a piano arrange, you can try blending with the bgm with a softer voice at some parts, not completely but like, mix in a little bit of that bridge or head voice/falsetto. Again, to add ~*variety*~~**~~**

As usual, ai-suuwillalwaysnagaboutadlibsandharmos adding some harmonies and adlibs would be good too. ONCE AGAIN THIS ADDS, ****V-A-R-I-E-T-Y***** because it not only makes people enjoy your voice more, but it also boosts up your vocals, letting people hear the range of your voice as well as testing how creative you can be with d*~*~*~*~*Voice Twists*~*~*~*b. Even better when this is a piano arrange because harmonies and adlibs blend bettter with ballads....most of the time at least *O*

I just realised I mentioned variety three times omf

yeah, some of my pronunciation was a little off, but i'd already done a few retakes and i don't have a lot of time to record and didn't want to lose what little window of time i had left QwQ  so i had to go with the best take i had and unfortunately, this was it OTL

i agree with you, but i'm not very confident with adlibs and i'm not good with harmonies QwQ  sometimes i listen back to my adlibs and omg i swear, you'd think i was tone deaf or something 8'D  i'm trying to work on improving my adlibbing though!  as far as harmonies go, i usually don't do them if i don't have a harmony guide >___>  the frustrating thing is that i learned how to play keyboard and clarinet in school and so i knew my chords and arpeggios, basic stuff like that.  i could read music.  i'm rusty now and have forgotten some, but i can still read most notes.  but for the life of me, i never learned how to differentiate which note was which by ear?  so i think that plays a huge part in my harmony troubles.  some people learn how to do it by ear, but i always mess it up OTL  it feels like i have a problem HEARING how notes blend or sound while i'm singing and when i listen to it afterwards, it's very clear that i sang the wrong notes?  i don't know if that makes sense.  again, another thing i'm trying to work on but having no success with so far QwQ

thank you for the feedback!  looking back at my posts, i probably come off as a very negative and self-deprecating person xD

Wow first time I'm listening to you (with Summer Record) and I really love your voice !
It's like a little husky, with some soft parts and it's... it's.. so special, but in a good way.
Your pronunciation's nice too
But you don't articulate (=> Is this english?) enough sometimes but that's okey !
And I don't know if it's just me, but I think your "second vocal" sounds like a wrong note (like in 2.14)

(Sorry my music vocabulary in english is really bad)

Please do more !

thank you so much!  enunciation has always been one of my weak points, but i am trying to improve it!  you are right that 2.14 is off (like in some other places) - i blame that on bad harmonies, sadly another weakness of mine xD it's not just you :D

and don't worry, your vocab wasn't bad!  thanks again :3
