Desertification / Global Warming ~ Allan Savoury
So I found this today and it was... intriguing. I'm sure most of you have heard about global warming, whether or not you believe in it. Allan Savoury has been studying desertification for several decades now, since the 1960s-1970s if I remember correctly. Desertification is the idea of grasslands and other green lands slowly turning into deserts and it's happening all over the world, except for Antarctica.

Just seeing the change that he's been able to produce with the lands he's been working with is amazing. There is a scene where he compares two lands, one where they did not try his method and despite having four months of rain, the river ran completely dry. The other one.. where the river was just flowing. And still had all this grass. Ahhh. It was beautiful.
And his solution solves the issue of factory farms, which are a whole other problem in themselves.
The video is a bit long, ~22 minutes, but it was definitely worth watching.

Wow, that is really amazing ouo I really hope this gets more noticed, since the video has quite little views compared to some other not maybe that important videos!

Sometimes we all gotta go back to our roots. Even farmers.

ohmygosh I LOVE TED conferences :D They're always so interesting, and this one is no exception - and it's also very relevant to issues we're facing in the world right now.
