How do you hear yourself when recording?
I use a headset to record but most of the time I can't hear myself and go off pitch. Is there some
some setting that can solve this problem? Thanks.

Re: How do you hear yourself when recording?
Well I haven't really thought about if there's a setting which could help but I record with headset too and I just listen to music on one ear and remove the headset on the other so I can hear myself and it works fine..
Sorry if this is a stupid answer but I hope it helps (:

I don't know if there's a setting that can solve your problem, but I just record over again. Otherwise, using the program, I can edit and re-edit parts in which I don't like with what I do like. (I don't do this, since one-shots are easier for me, lol, but it's worth a try!)
Re: How do you hear yourself when recording?
Okay thanks you 2 for suggestions I guess I could do that
Re: How do you hear yourself when recording?
The only-using-one-side thing does work quite well, yes~
Do you usually sing to the normal ver/a cover or the off vocal?
Oo, also, I'm told that if you tune into the second note before you start singing you'll usually hit everything just fine :3
Good luck, happy singing!!

Re: How do you hear yourself when recording?
I use headphones to record. Like MajP, I wear headphones on one side and remove it on the other.
but it depends on your hardware and DAW if you want to hear your voice through your headphones.

Re: How do you hear yourself when recording?
I actually record wearing headphones too, with the original/on-vocal on one side and removed headset on the other. It has worked pretty well for me
And nice to know there are others who do this too~ *highfives*

Re: How do you hear yourself when recording?
I use earphones as of now, and since it's rather unbalanced (aka. I can't hear one side that well), I don't really need to remove one earphone. But yeah, if I was using headphones, then I'd go remove one.
You could also try lowering the output volume while you sing and then bring it back to full when you're listening to yourself.

Re: How do you hear yourself when recording?
I use earphones (mostly due to me breaking the headphones I used to use, whoops xD). I actually usually put the instrumental louder when I'm recording because I tend to get really nervous if I'm mostly only hearing my voice //shot
I think that removing one headphone is helpful if you need to hear yourself better, though ^-^

Re: How do you hear yourself when recording?
I remove one earbud to hear my voice better too...
I can monitor my own voice through earphone but the lag makes it uncomfortable... and I find it more easier to control my voice by listening normally instead from the earphone. Quite contradictory since the earphone reflects our voice more accurately than our unaided ears
