Help! Should I quit Chemistry?

(May rename this thread to "RL Help" once my problem is solved... 8D)

So, I'm at the point in life where I need to choose what I should study and should not at school. At the moment, I'm feeling a little stressed about Chemistry. There's nothing wrong with the subject for me, but I'm finding it takes quite a bit of my time up and I cannot focus on my Maths (I'm doing two courses, a high level and advanced before school). I was thinking that if I quit Chemistry, I free up my time in order to focus on my other subjects and bring them back up again.

I'm currently taking seven subjects (normally its only six, I'm actually taking an extra subject), six of which are University bound: Chemistry (scale up if done well), Maths (scaled up/same), Specialist Maths (scaled up), Literature (might be scaled up, depends, or stay the same), Japanese (scaled up 10%) and Art (most likely scaled down?). (In Australia, each subject has its own exam, then your top four exam results [after some strange fiddle or something or another put on them] will become your score that will be used to get into a course for a course in University, each course thus has its own cut-offs. Also, each subject has this thing where it either scales up or down your score as well - apparently if I do well and get over 80% it is scaled up, not sure).

The problem is that, I'm sure Chemistry will provide many opportunities for me, but I'm not sure if I want to study Chemistry further in University (because I'm on a University bound course right now); in fact I'm more of the Arts kind of person. Also, if I quit it, I might feel like a quitter and sad at the lost opportunity later in life? o n o

So, which do you think I should do? Plan 1 or 2 listed below? A reason as to why would also be nice. ; w ; (Or other suggestions welcome)

Continue Chemistry, and do best in that subject and all subjects as is.
Quit Chemistry, which would give me the opportunity to "Study Periods" to do work, study before tests, etc. Then, next year, pick up Religion (University bound) for the sixth University bound subject for "just in case" (and still be entitled to the study period next year as well, or take another subject next year).

Do u already have ambition what you gonna study next?

IF science related field ...yes keep it ....u can drop other thou...

If not science related field ....drop it

You should not take Chemistry if you don't like it / not good at it / not interested in it. I highly suggest not taking anything that you would fail miserably at. But if you want to take it because of the opportunities it brings, then it is your choice.

I had this problem before. Whether I wanted AP English or regular English, I couldn't choose. AP English looked good for college while regular English was just English class. But then AP English had a lot of essays and boring stuff so I chose regular English because it had creative writing in it.

You should choose what's best for you at the moment. I'm sure you can take Chemistry classes somewhere else if you want to learn it :3

As Shinji said, it has a lot to do with what you want to do in life. Some things, although you may hate it, will prove really invaluable as foundation knowledge later. =P

@Shinji @Shuuki Yeah, I'm thinking of a Bachelor of Arts ; I guess I'll study "catch-up" Chem classes in university if I really want to pursue it. Thanks. o u o

@Seina Yes, I was thinking that too. I just had a career's expo at school yesterday and I was looking through the guides -- if I wanted to get into most of the course with Chem, I didn't need Chemistry as a prerequisite, just the high maths (though depends on the course I guess, some needs both chem and phys). (and it's not so much much I'm not good at it, I'm doing pretty well...just not believing I can a higher mark right now...) Thanks for the advice! ^-^
