UTAU vs. Vocaloid: The debate~

As a composer, I'm eagerly waiting for Miku to come out in the U.S. to really start trying to be a known Vocaloid artist. To practice and/or start experimenting with the program, I've used UTAU a lot and realized that Teto or Ritsu (and other well-made UTAU) can often be as good, and in some cases (such as Gachapoid) better than the Vocaloids made by the various companies. Of course, since the Vocaloids are more popular, people are more prone to listen to Vocaloid songs and dismiss UTAU songs as simple works not worth listening to.

I just wanted to know everyone's opinions on the matter since I've worked hard in UTAU and think that it has sophistication and, although it may never live up to Vocaloid's standards, I believe that songs sung by UTAU should be given just as much respect as when it is sung by a Vocaloid. Or maybe a human. xD Just wondering! ^-^

I love Vocaloid and UTAU. In my opinion I prefer Vocaloid purely because with Vocaloid because there is Less of them compared to Utauloids which means you get to know the Vocaloids and how they are portrayed which makes it seem like they have their own personalities, which in my opinions does make songs have a bigger impact especially the sad ones!

Quality wise I do prefer Vocaloid but I really do love UTAU purely because of the HUGE Variety of voices at hand, and when used and recorded well they can be just as good as vocaloids and maybe even better in some cases.

All in all I love them both, Vocaloid just a tiny bit more though

I must admit I love more things about Vocaloid, but UTAU just has some qualities to it that Vocaloid can't match -- same with Vocaloid to UTAU, of course. I don't know why, though. xD
