How do you guys do your dubs? oAo
Um, hai!
Today, I want to ask you pro dubbers out there.... How do you do your dubs?
Like, do you do them raw and slap the off vocal in with it? If so, what programme do you use to do that?
If not, how do you do it then?
I'm a new dubber and I'm trying to get a grasp of things so I won't mess up or anything... Also, I'm sure the information you share here wil be useful to others as well. So, please share with us how you do it! :3

Not sure this is the right subtopic, and I'm nowhere near a 'pro dubber', but I'll answer anyways. owo
Welcome to dubbing? *A*; -shot-
Anyways, what I do, is I record using Audacity, usually with the instrumental, so it's generally timed. Then I go ahead and adjust the timing of my vocals, add some small amounts of reverb (just so my vocals don't stand out as much), and adjust volume.
(I think... that was the most simplified explanation I've ever done)
And if I'm correct, there is still a mixing guide somewhere here on YTC~
... If you think about it, there's really no 'right' way to do it. 8'D
Just mess around with settings, and see what kind of outcome you'd prefer~
If you need help, I'll still be around. ; w;)/ I like helping.
Best of luck!

Um... I don't really do one-shots unless I'm not the one mixing. But 'cause I usually mix for myself, I just record (occasionally in parts) the lines a few times, until I think it probably sound okayish. Afterwards, I just open the off-vocal and copy-paste everything wherever it seems like it makes sense.
For recording I use Music Editor Free and mixing I use EXPStudio Audio Editor, which is also free. For effects I'm using WavePad. But if possible, I hear Adobe Audition and Cubase are amazing (but expensive D:). Audacity is also commonly used, but that program hates me with a passion and I hate it back. D:< wwww
It's kind of a lot to take in, even for me, but it's waaaay simpler than I'm wording it. XD

Uhhh//// I do a lot : D
Record with audacity, time with audacity, export it all, put it through Adobe Audition 3, remove the noise, compress, amplify, filters, master the vocals, compress a little more, tune, add some reverb, do some more fine timing, if I want to add harmonies/ adlibs, add some reverb to the off vocal (a little), tiem the track, do volume again, compress the track to its loudest so everything sounds even....AND TA DAAHHH! : D
