The story of a girl named Cherry.

The boy started to get angry and impatient. "Cherry! I want some candy right now!" Cherry only hushed him again, which made him even angrier. He took a box of candy off one of the shelves and put it into the girl's purse without her noticing.

Just then a man in a black vest embroidered with silver and a name tag saying "manager" halted Cherry and the boy. He asked "Excuse me ma'am, but your--" suddenly the boy kicked the man in the shin, and ran off. Cherry ran after him, with the sweeks still in her purse. The manager followed them at a brisk, but limping pace.

Cherry ran and ran, calling the boy's name out as loud as she could bit to no avail. She looked behind her, where she half-expected the manager to be, but because of his leg, it seemed that they had lost him. The thick coldness started to engulf her, and a sick feeling of dread in her stomach told her that something was terribly wrong. Cherry ran ahead screaming in panic to find the little boy.

"Cookie! (may I call him that? since I dunno what name should I put here ^^ Where you? Cookie!". Cherry kept calling his name until suddenly she felt she stepped on something. She was ready to take a look on that thing but something big grabbed her shoulder.

Cherry took a few step backward. She bowed. "I'm really sorry, Sir.. I need to find him right now, so I can give you back the stuff he took from the store. And, May I ask if you're okay, Sir?". She showed some worried face to the manager.

The manager just nodded and asked Cherry if he should help her find Cookie. (that's a cute name, xyzddaeneo. btw, what should i call you?ur name's a li'l complicated.x3) Cherry agreed and thanked that cool and handsome manager. She noticed something about him. "Wait..is this guy the same age as me?"

"If so... then why does he get to be so much taller than I am?" She shook the thought from her head, realizing that Cookie was much more important than this. "So um... do you think you can give me your number so we can split up and find him easier?" She didn't realize how awkward that request sounded.

(yo, people~ who wants to give Mr.Manager a name? )

but the manager didn't answer. He looks [some kind of] stunned by [the awkwardness of] her question.

...SECONDS OF SiLENCE...

Mr.Manager just looked straightly to Cherry.
after some seconds, Cherry realized the awkwardness of her question. [..and silently panicked]

GUY'S POV~
"Is it just me or there's really something about this girl?"

(and now I'm getting confused xD)

"Umm...here's my number." Cherry gave him her number. The young man didn't say anything and after a few minutes, he asked Cherry for her cellphone and typed his number there.
"Okay, I'm going there. You should try looking into that place," the manager pointed into an opposite direction from where he faced.. Cherry nodded and ran into that direction while her face is kind of painted by the color of red. As red as a cherry. Just like her name.

Couple of hours passed. The two searched as far as they could until...

*rrrrriiiiing~ rrrriiinng~*

Cherry's phone rang. It's a call from the manager. Cherry's heart started thumping...loud...and louder...faster! She got nervous. And then she answered, "H-hello? <insert more...> " (XD)

(wahaha~ xD nice..you got me to use my head to continue the story now xD)

"H-hello? Cherry's here...Is.."
"I found your brother. Come to the store, quickly." the person hanged the call.
Cherry put her cellphone back to her pocket and started to run to the store.

And what she saw is a horrible scenery. Cookie was lying on the manager's lap. His clothes was covered by blood. Cherry closed her mouth so she could hold herself from screaming.

"I found him not too far from the store. He was lying there. In the middle of the crowds. They said he got hit by a vehicle around a few minutes ago. I brought him here and the store owner already called an ambulance.."

*this is so dramatic now ;_; *

"I was so stupid to not get him in time. If I had just let him buy that candy. If I had found him sooner." Cherry found dozens of reasons that this was completely her fault, and she could barely hold the tears back as they flooded her eyes.

"It isn't your fault..." said the manager, still sitting on the ground keeping Cookie of the ground. "Everything will be okay." As much as he tried to reassure her, Cherry could not control herself and she stood there crying in the middle of the crowded street.

"It's here! Ambulance's here!" the store owner runs towards them.
Cherry saw some medical officers are running into them.
"The injured is here! Get him on! Quickly! You two can come with us! Hurry!". Cherry nodded and hopped into the ambulance.
She kept praying. Hoping that Cookie would be alright.

"Check his blood pressure! what's his conscious level? ... ... ..."
Cherry stared at his brother blankly while voices of medical officers surrounded her.

"Don't cry, big sis..I'm.." Cookie gained his consciousness.
"Cookie! I..!"
"He gained his consciousness! His pulse?!" the medicals kept checking on him.
"Cookie..are you alright? I'm sorry.." she cried.
"Yeah..You're a big...devil sis..heh-heeh..you..always seem..so strong..so..show me your..smile...I'm...okay.." Cookie's smile fainted as he closed his eyes again.
"Cookie! Cookie!"
"Don't move him! He lost so many bloods!" the medicals moved Cherry's hands from her brother.

"But, he! he!"
"Don't cry!!" the manager shouted. Cherry was startled and faced the manager. "Be strong. He wants you to be strong. You're a big sis. Don't cry. Smile for him. He asked for your smile.."

Cherry forced a smile, tears still flowing down her cheeks, sobs still escaping from her mouth.
"I'm smiling now, see? Everything's fine now! So please...wake up! Open your eyes Cookie...please!? Don't die. Don't leave me here. Wake up! PLEASE!...don't go...plea-"

And then everything went black.

For the first time. orz

When Cherry woke up, she found that she was in the hospital, and she found that Cookie was in a hospital bed next to hers. "Oh god, i must've passed out from anxiety again." She mumbles to herself. "Again? What do you mean by that?" Cherry hears a voice very near to her ear, almost right next to her, and jumped. "AAHHH!!! Oh my god, don't scare me like that"

(To Hikari above me: LMAO! You have been infected by me!! XD)

Suddenly, she remembered the manager. Her cheeks suddenly felt heavy and her heart starting pounding. Doki doki. She looked to the right, wondering who was beside her. Doki doki. Everything suddenly became clear to her... Cookie... the manager... blood...
Doki doki.
She wished this day was all just a dream.
Doki doki.
But somwhere in Cherry's heart was glad she met the manager.
Doki doki.
What was this feeling?
She looked to her right, swiftly.

The manager was sitting right next to her in a chair. Relieved, she spoke in a raspy voice, "Oh, it's just you, CarrotTop (can that be his nickname? XD)"
He looked surprised and confused. "...Why carrottop?" " 'cause, you have an orange head of hair" "...Oh."
Awkward moment of silence.
Cherry broke the tension "Soo, how long have you been here and why are you still here? Don't you have a family to go home to?"

"Gosh, I'm not that lonely. I have a business and I'm only 18. I'm only here because I c-" The manager's face suddenly turned a bright, cherry red.
"C? C what?" Cherry was curious. The manager just looked away, hiding his little red face.
"It's n-nothing... Gosh..."
"Come on, I want to know!" Cherry demanded.
"C-... CARROTS... I like carrots..." The manager whispered, in a rather awkward voice.

'H-huh?' Cherry thought, but decided to fake the awkwardness and just go with it. "Ah, i see! I guess that I chose the right nickname for you huh!?"
"So, do you know how long I have to stay here?" Cherry suddenly asked after another awkward moment.

"U-uh, yeah, the doctor's said I'd have to call them once you awoke." The manager stuttered. There was another awkward silence.
What am I doing? he thought. He felt his face burning up. He didn't want Cherry to see him like this. He got up from his seat and turned "I.. I better call the-"
He felt soft skin, grasping his.
"D-don't... l-leave..." An angelic voice muttered.

"ONEE-CHA~~N!!!"

The cry from the boy in the room next to them (the wall was a curtain) caused them to both jump back into reality.

"U-uh, Cookie!! You're awake! W-where are you?" Cherry stuttered nervously, while the manager looked away, both faces tinted light pink.
