RPG Roles?

So, yeah, I have always wondered what role people would play if they were characters in an RPG.

Roles I am positive of existing are:
-Generic Leader/Hero: Other than being in the lead role, there's not much in the way of significant traits
-Mage: The main magic-user for offense. Soft and squishy, doesn't like to get hit.
-Sharpshooter: The one who chip away at the enemy from a distance by way of some form of weapon. Periodically overlaps with Mage.
-Healer: Self-explanitory. Soft and squishy, but can patch themselves up.
-Tank: Can take a licking and keep on kicking.
-Glass Cannon: Can deal heavy damage, but they don't like getting hit very much.
-Damage Sponge: Can't deal damage, but can soak it up no sweat.
-Generic Villain: The evil counterpart of the Leader/Hero. No significant traits beyond being evil.
-Master Planner: The strategist, every plan they make always works, with little to no difficulties.
-Rogue: The small, quick guy. Can't take damage damage very well, and usually can't deal it unless they spot an enemy's soft spot.

I, for one, have pretty much been elected by my friends as the generic Leader/Hero.

I'd be the healer or master planner. Those are both non-combatant roles and I'm a weak and innocent person xD (plus REALLY smart)

Mage/glass cannon or healer =D They're the types of classes I play in mmorpgs and stuff haha

On most games, I'm typically a rogue or a glass cannon.
Some games i switch up the role to Healer

Since I loooooove Roleplay stuff....

It really depends. If there's a big party like in MMORPGs, I'll most probably be the Mage. If it's just a small-ish group, I can be a Mage or Healer or if I feel like it, a Tank. Though Strategist is also a class that I like~

Oh and I believe you're forgetting the Long-Ranged roles like Archer.

OH how sadistic I would be if I were a villain *SHOTDEAD*

I'd be the Rogue or Mage.

I'd be a Tank, you can never know what to expect without a Tank to help you out.

I'm usually a mage, sharpshooter/archer, or glass cannon in MMORPGs, but like others, it differs for me too since I like trying different kinds. Sometimes I pick the role of rogue or generic villian if I feel like it~ I'm all over the place, heh.
