This is really random, but has anyone ever played the violin before? I just randomly started teaching myself a few days ago, and I suck at it XD

I did learn how to play the vibrato though~ I am playing notes using only one string and I play it like how you would normally play a cello, but I think my vibrato sounds soul shattering (at least to me anyways, I'm just glad I learned it in an afternoon so well~) XD I really wanna upload a tiny sample to hear what you guys think about it >< It's always easier when someone else's critisizing your work instead, ne?

My sister used to play the violin, but my mum stopped her classes cos she was gettin no where with it and doesnt practice... even if she does its always at like 8pm or so T A T

@Haine the only instrument I play well is the recorder 8D I can play the keyboard, but I dont own one and I can't play the chords... So its a fail for me too xP

I must agree with Haine. I swear most school uniforms are terrible looking (including mine orz). They're always the school colours which usually are... terrible, clashing eyesores. ;__;

We used to get taught recorder in primary school :D It was compulsory. And most of us only knew how to play 'Hot Cross Buns'. Very badly.

Violin, huh? I started with the viola, and loved it to bits. But I have Asian parents who were like, "Who the heck plays the viola?! Play the violin!" So they forced me to switch. -_-" I switched to flute after about half a year cause I didn't really like it, though.

A year or so ago, I picked it up again and more-or-less self-learned a book or so. My playing is abominable, though, so. =D

Other than that... I play the piano. -_-" Just like every other Asian. 8D Been playing for... around 9 years now? (<-lost track/haven't played in nearly a year) Got my diploma and taught for 3 years in between.

Cellos are awesome~! I have tiny midget hands (actually, I've never met a person my age with hands smaller than mine *cries* Playing double octaves hurts me. >_>), so playing cello HURTS. @_@ Those strings are so thick, and the vibrations are so strong.... (<-kind of a wimp)

@Jas: Violas are slightly larger, and the sound is generally deeper and darker, but will vary with the individual instrument. I remember this one guy in high school who's viola sounded like chocolate. <333 I loved his playing.

I also swing from obsession to obsession madly. Things usually last me only a week or so. -_-" I think I've gotten slightly better with it now, though.

@Shuu: LOL I'm a wimp too >< I also have small hands~ I'm 4'11" but my hands and feet are super tiny. I have friends who are my age and are shorter than me, but their feet and hands are bigger than me >< And my mom says /I/ have large feet xD I guess most asians have small feet

I strangly don't mind it though. I don't mind hugs given to me on 'hug a short person day' either! Probably because ever since I was little, i've been sort of taught by my grandma not to let anyone at school touch me because she thinks...it's bad...So starting from Kindergarden (girls would always admire my hair) all the way to last year, (girls don't play with my hair that often now because I used to shoo them away) I would never really get any phisical contact from anyone except from teachers....(not even my parents or family would usually hug me or something)

I'm pretty sure it's not just me that this has happened to, but now that I think about it, it's actually kind of...sad. (Sorry for making you read all that)

^I also hate people touching me. I used to have this reflexive glare whenever people came too close. >_> It's better now, I guess. I've got a lover, and I've gotten used to the whole holding hands, hugging, etc.

Although... I have to say... I've always been okay with touching other people. O_o

BTW I'd be one of those annoying people fussing over people's hair. I love shiny, smooth hair. >_>
