Buying a Tablet...Need some help please!
Ok, so I recently bought a new printer/scanner. (It's so perfect with the design for scanning where you put the piece of paper above the glass and close the top /rant) Anyways, I scanned an OC for a roleplay and I tried to edit it, but my computer won't accept it.
Here's my point: I'm about ready to buy a tablet so i can just sketch right away (i suck using a mouse ) I've seen my friend's Bamboo (c) tablet and it's pretty cool...
---Price range: less than $200 US
---Sensitivity: Not TOO sensitive where if i put my hand down it does something weird.
---Compatibilty: With Windows XP and above.
So, what do you guys recommend?
-EDIT- Is this the right place to put this?

I would recomend a a Wacom Bamboo pen (I have one)
http://www.amazon.com/Wacom-CTL460-Bamboo-Pen-Tablet/dp/B002OOWC3I/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1301616286&sr=8-1
-about $70 if you buy it at a store that has it
-it's pen only, some have touch capability
-it has a free drawing program, Corel Painter Essentials 4
-ambidextrous- can be used for left or right hand
if you're a beginner, then this would be a good choice

I agree with Kotuea.
I also use a Wacom Bamboo Pen, and it sounds like it applies to what you're saying. /ifailatlife
But if you prefer drawing with your hands (Lolwut?) then you can get the Bamboo Pen & Touch which is 200$ or so dollars.

The Bamboo is the cheapest of Wacom's products which is about $200 and under.
Unless you want an Intuos (larger than bamboo and has buttons), which is $200 and over, or a Cintiq (you can draw on the screen ^.^), which is about $1000-$2000 (O.O)
NOTE: Intuos and Cintiq are made for professionals (that's why they're expensive....)
According to retail value of the tablets:
http://www.wacom.com/index2.php
-The Bamboo Pen and Touch includes Photoshop Elements 7.0 (my friend says the program sucks, he said it crashes)
There are other companies that do sell tablets (found some cheaper than bamboo), but I don't have any knowledge about them.
Check the reviews of the tablets if it is a good tablet too.

@Kotuea and Akikaze
Thanks you guys~ I posted this because I wanted an ACTUAL firsthand review of tablets, not some phony-baloney review that the company makes up just to get money. I checked reviews of other tablets and saw some cheaper ones, but not much extra info about them.
I am kind of a beginner at drawing orz...but i'm working on it
Anyways, thanks again~

I use a wacom Graphire4. I like it because it's slightly more sensitive than the bamboo, and not that much more expensive. I got mine for about $90. It has a 4x6 drawing space, and the pen locks into the plastic casing so it becomes portable ^^
Graphire also comes with photoshop elements. I've been using this tablet for 3 years and it hasn't given me any problems of any sort 8D I love it muchly. It can be used right or left handed. Mine also came with Corel Painter in the package software. It's a pen-only, so you don't draw with your hands (but I never saw any reason for me to draw with my fingers anyway, so yeah). Compared to some other tablets I've had before (I've had a bamboo before, and some other cruddy one I can't even remmeber the brand name of) this one is my favorite so far ^^~ I highly recommend it. It's like buying something between an intuos and a bamboo, and I think it's a good student-grade one.

Re: Buying a Tablet...Need some help please! [Got Help]
I think the Graphire series are discontinued now. It is not available on the Wacom site, so you'll have to find another source that sells any legit Graphires, either new or used...
Most likely, you will find more used or refurbished Graphires....
I heard that IPads are being used as drawing tablets also...
Probably not a good idea, since they are expensive... and you have a computer, why buy another? (besides traveling, you could do that with a laptop and a small tablet also...)

Re: Buying a Tablet...Need some help please! [Got Help]
D: is that so? That makes me a little sad. Better take really good care of my current graphire then .__. last time I checked the wacom site, they still had graphire though. Oh well. About the Ipads, my brother has an Ipad, and after fiddling around with it for a while, we decided that the pressure and control simply wasn't good. In Kuma-chan's case, if you want a new tablet, I suppose a bamboo would relaly be best after all.
Re: Buying a Tablet...Need some help please! [Got Help]
Oh sorry about the confusion guys. By "drawing w/ my hands" I meant like drawing with a pen or stylus because i can't draw well using a computer mouse.
But yeah I might just get a Bamboo after all (although my teacher has a tablet she uses during class that she hooked up to the SmartBoard and it wasn't that expensive...and it's not a Bamboo...)
P.S.-That Graphire sounds nice...totally gonna go on a quest for one over the summer...
