Hey guys, I'm back for now.
I'll update the first post when I get back home tomorrow(ish).
And from what I've checked, everything looks alright so far~

I don't understand what you mean by you don't have to download. Don't you have to download in order to add the vocals to the chorus? O__o

Redone auditions are fine, but not preferred.

Also, auditions are still open. Like it says in the first post, auditions don't end until around the 25th.

So, I've been trying for the last couple of hours to record the Miku Append part, I'm having no luck, every time it sucks. Any suggestions? I'm trying to get the breathy feel without having to keep the fuzz at the end. Let me rephrase: everytime I hit the noise removal, I lose the important part of the vocals. How can I fix this? Or, even more importantly,
How can I record a good Miku Append cover?

Depends how your original voice is really. Her voice is delicate and flows smoothly. Noise removal does nothing, as you have to actually have the voice of Miku Append to do her voice. Editing just ruins the natural feel. If you cannot get that smooth voice on your on, I suggest trying another part. *And yes, I cannot do it either* XD

... what do you mean "noise removal does nothing"? Whether or not I have her voice, Noise Removal removes the Noise in the background (to some extent).
My method is: I'm using lots of extra breath, and for a while was even singing in a whisper.
My problem is: Noise Removal thinks that sounds close enough to the background noise my mic picks up (hint: it's right), so I end up losing the "breathy" and getting an edited-sounding track.

Anyway, I'm trying out for all the parts-- since I decided Yuki's solo part should be done in the standard '60's ballad voice-over voice (the really smooth deep one? Yeah.).
I'm recording them all in different ways, and usually trying to make it sound sort of like the original, at least when there is a distinctive quality (MAppend's Breathiness, Rin's Nasal-ness(?)). When there isn't I'm giving the character one.

I will have you know that editing doesn't solve everything. I use very little editing in my music clips, and they sound just fine. I only use noise removal if I had to amplify my sound samples by more than 12dB, only because there's a hissing sound in the background. (the "PPPFFFFSSSHHHHHHTTTT" sound that you talk of.)

If you can't pull it off without "extreme editing," then go for a different voice. Miku Append has a unique voice that only a select few can pull off.

And for crying out loud, Yin-san's trying to help you. You asked for help, you got help. Accept it without fighting back. That's the respectful thing to do. -_-
