Better than Windows (Live) Movie Maker? Empty Better than Windows (Live) Movie Maker?

When I make my cover videos, I've often used Windows Movie Maker and Windows Live Movie Maker.

And honest to god, I hate them. If I could replace them, I would. I hate Live even more because splicing actual videos to make your video is harder than it should be.

But what I had in mind, I want to use actual (RAW) episodes from certain anime and use only certain scenes. The only way I could do that was to put them on WMM and shrink the length of the video, and shrinking 23m videos is pretty hard.

Are there programs that can make scene splicing easier?

And they don't have to be free.

You could probably go for Sony Vegas Pro. Splitting is much easier and there are a lot of effects you can do with that program. File sizes are pretty big tho.
Corel Studio is also pretty good for simple video editing. Just check out some YouTube videos or reviews about them and see which you like better. owo
