Um, an issue you have with your Backgrounds is the strength of the background image. The picture should be a background, not a focal point of the webpage and placing full colour/high contrast images beneath the text makes the text really hard to see, and it draws attention away from the actual content. Using the boxes is a nice idea, but designing YouTube pages IMO requires more of a subtle touch than throwing pictures in their designated locations.

Other than that, I'm amazed you can use bright yellow like that. Harsh hues are something you normally stay away from when selecting colours to fill large areas as they make people's eyes burn from the effort of keeping focus on the screen. Try desaturating it a little and brightening it so it is more pale, and create a white cutoff instead of a black one so there's no intense difference between picture and lack of.

I also make YouTube layouts too :D They're much simpler though.

But in easier terms, it's nice you use the boxes on a person's channel as a base for what you do because it fits together well, but don't just stick a picture underneath.

That's something I made (and want to remake), and it uses the picture as more of an accent. Backgrounds shouldn't make you want to look at them so much more than what you're actually trying to display. They should be accents to your channel info, pictures and all that stuff...

Look at famous channels on YouTube and their designs. Generally they have a theme and it's a simple background that frames the channel, some Social networking stuff and a big logo for the name.

PS. I'm still getting used to critique as well. I just joined a GFX community and I thought I was amazing at GFX... But I'm ranked pretty low right now >.>' Got practice to do.
