Dear everyone else in the world(that includes you ==''),
okay so now i figured everyones pro at mixing/recording. and im like, at the bottom. so i'd like as much advice as possible. beware you are talking to a person that have never used any recording/mixing programs but audacity(which, i dont know how to work out except for the record, pause, and play button). and i don't have access to window movie maker what so ever(its COMPLETELY broken).

problems that i need help on:
-how to "mix"
-how to take off unnecessary sounds in the background
-how to get good quality???
-any other advice tats good

I'm a newbie at mixing/recording too, but I'll try to help out how I can. To get good quality... what operating system do you use? If you use Vista, you can adjust the settings on your mic to get something called 'studio quality'. If you want, I can take some screenies for you?

How to mix... i am still a n00b on that point but how is mix is:
I use Audacity to record and mix and i record in stereo.
after recording i split the stereo track and ad effects on one of the tracks
after that i uhm... how do i explain it... i turn one of the tracks upside down... and then yerh... then i edit the volume ^^

the two other questions... i think you should buy a okay quality mice... some good mices removes the BGnoise and it doesn't make distortion
and that might also make your voice come out more clearly ^^

Hope that helped!

The sound card you have also plays an important role on how good the quality of your recordings come out. Getting an external DAC (digital-to-analog converter) would help in terms of quality, note that sound cards are basically DAC's.

Also, when using the envelope tool, do maintain the peaks. If you bring the lows up to the treble, either clipping will result or distortions will be heard.

Effects are available and pretty much self-explanatory. To destroy unnecessary sounds, just highlight it and click on Generate >> Silence. Unless if it's on your voice then... I have no idea. >_>

We also have an Audacity Wiki's page of tutorials here in any case. Smile And the main wiki page is here in case you need other information on it.

I have been using Audacity for at least four years now, note that I have been adding more plugins in any case for more mixing and podcasting, GSnap is compatible with Audacity, if installed correctly. Auto-Tune worked fine with it, when I tried out the 10 days trial. :D

I'm sorry I'm talking a lot, and so far; I've been experimenting a lot with Audacity so feel free to ask more. :D

If you want an inexpensive mic [not sure if you have one currently] but I have a Rock Band Mic [cost me $20's at Game Stop. Be sure to check the back to see if it has sound removal]. Apparently, a lot of fandubbers use if and I can see why too. I was so annoyed with my old mic and planned to save up for a mic around $50-$200. [Because I was desperate XD]. So I went to a game store and saw a used Rock Band Mic and was like "cool, it can work on the computer". It worked pretty well! I liked it, but it had a down side too, you can notice the BG noise a lot and that annoyed me. Singing ballads were difficult to do with that mic. So I went to Game Stop again [planning to buy Twlight Princess because I was so ashamed that I didn't play it. By the way, wonderful game!] and saw another rock band mic and read the description on the back and said "Included Noise Removal". Awesome, and that cost me $20 bucks and I was pretty happy that day. When I tested it out, it sounded pretty professional for a game mic. So In the end, I saved around $30-$180.

by the way, saku-chan~ have you tried searching some Free Recorder or Mixer Download? i'm sure you'll find many downloadable prog's there that will surely be a great help. Wink almost all of them are just trials for months or weeks or days so do not DL everything at once, k? :D be wise of what you choose to dl and be sure that it doesn't have viruses or something.XD that's all.. :D hope it helps .. at least. :D

search for ADOBE AUDITION, cool recorder edit pro, and what the others said. :D
