Yeah, YET another vampire anime!! But I found it enjoyable!! Even though its Horror and I tend to HATE horror...>w>
Here is a summary from Anime News Network:
Its different from other vampire animes I know. The only "LOVE" relationship is a one-sides crush.

- Plot Summary:
Sotoba is a small, quiet village where life has always been peaceful. Natsuno Yuuki, who moved from the city, hates it. However, recently a strange rash of mysterious deaths has begun to torment the village, and an epidemic is suspected. As various investigations continue, the truth behind the deaths becomes clear. The town is being attacked by vampires.
The story takes place in a small and what appears to be a peaceful village called, Sotoba. However, this is no ordinary village. Death seems to be tormenting the village and it is a common thing in Sotoba. Natsuno Yuuki, a new resident in Sotoba, hates the village and wants to move back to the city. However, he is determined to solve the mystery behind the strange death occurrences.

OH I READ THIS MANGA BEFORE. Its more of a maturer thing than vampire knight~And much more mystery and horror in it for sure ;>

From what I read from the manga, the "vampires" follow the old vampire rules~
Unlike Twilight!

I love this show. I love the creator of this anime. [ it was originally a novel done by the AMAZING Fuyumi Ono. <3 She writes a lot horror stuff. Like Ghost Hunt which also has an anime adaption that will mess with your head. :'3 ] I honestly dislike anything to do with Vampires.. but this is one of the only exceptions. This.. just.. blows my mind. The style is very cool look, but creepy at the same time. The fact it has the power to jumble my mind and creep me out is amazing. <3 Ffff-- I would totally recommend to anyone. :'3

@ Nano :Oh GWAD...Some of the episodes of Ghost Hunt scared the crap outta me ;A; Like the Minnie Doll Arc and the Blood Drinker....
Yeah...Usually vampire stories revolve around romance. (Vampire Night, Karin, Moon Phase, Twilight, call those other romance novels) But Shiki is more mystery than romance.

LOL. The Blood Drinker one is the one that got me.. well, they all, but that one messed with me most and actually made me hide my face like 'NO MORE'. XDD But it's sooo good that I couldn't stop!
And yeah. I really can't stand that.. :/ I am more attracted to the mystery [lmao. i originally wrote 'mustry'] but still. I just.. don't know.. It's hard to describe how much I like this XDD lmao.

I'm anxious for more episodes to get aired 
I've kept up with the manga *also anxious for new chapters*
In the midst of this "vampire" craze, what with Twilight, Vampire Knight, etc. Vampire stories have turned from classic horror tales to just plain cheesy shoujo romance crap >:B
I love how in Shiki, mystery and suspense is the dominant feeling instead of romance :'D

Shiki is the best anime of this season for me~ \(^o^)/
It's just really well-made, imo! I love the soundtrack a lot too! ><

Since I never bothered finding out about the original material, I just found out because of this thread that it's from the author of Ghost Hunt! That's pretty cool~ *w*

I looked around for animes yesterday (at night) and I was like "hey a horror"
I've seen 7 eps fo far, the art style is a bit wierd and creepy (that's a good thing) I like it, it's actually very good on the horror parts, also I like that skinny character, the one that acts so imature, whatever his name was xD
Why do I like him?? I think it's the twirl in his hair...

It is a.w.e.s.o.m.e! The suspense kills me. Shiki isn't your usual vampire story as someone said above. It's a mystery and horror vampire one.
