singing tips..er..well..(lol I'm not good with advice but...)
Well if the song is too high for you, you can pitch down the instrumental so then you can sing it comfortably because if you try to force yourself trying to sing that certain note it can have a big effect on your voice (like, you can ruin it or something)
Or when you are reaching for a certain note, I suggest you sing "falsetto" which is singing in your not-so-normal high squeaky voice because like I said if you force yourself you can damage your voice ALOT..
When you are going to sing a long part make sure you take a big deep breath before you let all your singing out because then you wouldn't have to stop and breathe in the middle of your singing
so erm..I guess for me is to try and have fun with singing and don't be too like "UGH THIS FAILS ALOT!" because it's all about having fun and many people including you and me have unique voices so maybe it isn't fail
Try and have fun and add your own adlibs (like aaahs or ooohs in the song) or maybe improvise! XD
(lol I'm not good with advice xD)

Re: Singing tips..?
Forcing yourself goes for low notes, too.
Even though it's tempting to try and force them out
(low notes are naturally quieter than higher pitches)
if you start hurting, you should stop singing.
Because really, we're here to have fun singing.
And messing up your throat isn't fun at all!
(This is experience speaking. orz Trust me.)
Once you're more used to singing,
your range will probably have increased a bit.
Until then, don't hurt yourself stretching for notes.
Also be careful to sit properly:
keep your back straight and your head up.
If you CAN, stand up (straight, of course.)
Your air will flow properly if you're stretched out
with no obsctructions caused by slouching.
It's a lot easier to sing when you can breathe right.
Most of all ... if a song's stressing you out ...
Take a break. You don't have to be perfect the first time.
(Or the second, or the third, etc ...)
Just have fun with it. ~

Re: Singing tips..?
remember to drink alot of liquid or water generally. Rest is also good too. I've noticed that voices tend to last longer when your fully rested.
Also, put your best effort into it and don't strain yourslef. We don't want anyone going insane here <_<
all in all, have fun

Re: Singing tips..?
Well, having fun is all good, but if you think you might have some talent, it might become a skill. But having a skill is not all fun and games... there might be bumps, harsh criticism, or you yourself might feel like giving up. Then you might not have fun per se, but if you carry on and triumph over those obstacles, you'll feel a sense of accomplishment and self-improvement...
But for the majority of people having fun is more important.

Re: Singing tips..?
Hmm~
Some things I learned are
when you can get a high note but cant 'hit' it cause your nervous, etc,
try bending your knee slightly. Dun know why but it helps me
Try not to eat that much dairy related things right before you sing. When you do,there a 'feeling; of something down there right?(for me yeah lol) that effects you a lot.(Which is why you warm up :D)
another thing is well yeah everyone mentioned it but Have fun!
Dont stress over tiniest things. Singing is something you mold on your own, because well, it's YOUR voice. Not mine, nor anyone else.
If you have any other questions go ahead and ask. We're all nice here.
(Plus give me a good way to review what i learned in choir )
I'd love to hear you sing sooner or later .

Re: Singing tips..?
Adding this on the advice of staying well-rested:
After you wake up, if you'll be recording early, wait until your voice 'wakes up' too - that is, it gets back to your normal speaking voice. I have sang songs before doing that, and my voice was dead/I was coughing for a few hours afterward.
Similar note, if you're sick (mainly sicknesses affecting your throat), don't try singing at all until you're better. If it means you can't participate in something you're expected to due to it, let people know. Best not to force it if you're sick - you'll very likely sound different than you should, and it might hurt more, making your problems last longer - you can't hurt your voice, whether you sing seriously or for fun.
