Re: Please help me use SAI
I agree photoshop does make more sense xD
But you can make Sai sensible too -w- Just change it's settings.
in the tabs bar click Help/Config and set the delete button to... well, I couldn't find the delete command ^^' lol so I just set it to cut, but that works too .x. lol
Hope this helped ¦D

Re: Please help me use SAI
^to crop, click the select tool, and colour the bit you want to clear and then click something else (like choose paintbrush or sth) and type delete
Ah~~ I used to be so confused about SAI - *actually is still a little confused* but it gets better the more you use it~
Now I find it a lot better than photoshop simply because of its bazillion blending options - giving it a more polished look.
will do a tutorial hopefully when i have time

Re: Please help me use SAI
There's also an option underneath <<Canvas>> that says <<Crop/Trim to Selection>> or something similar. That should allow you to crop the picture aka change the image size into a smaller one if you took the marquee/select tool and selected something.

Re: Please help me use SAI
Because you scanned the pic, everything is on the same layer, so you can't select just the white background...
So you should just do the lineart on a seperate layer and just delete the scanned pic.
Did that make sense?...
And yeah, like Variegeta said, to crop, just select what area you want to crop to, and go Canvas >> Trim to Selection
Hope that helps c:
