I got into a Clannad English Fandub. She discontinued it cuz the major roles didn't submit the lines
Re: Voice Acting Chat
Ok here Goes!
Please note That I'm not a professional I'm just an amature who sticks to fandubs. Maybe one day I'll be pro XD
-Shameless plugging of projects and resumes
Lol My resume is:
http://midnightmoonproductions.webs.com/resume.htm
I need to update it though
- Talk about recent roles you've been cast as
Well my newest roles would Kaorin from Azumanga Diaoh and Nia Tepplin from Gurren lagann
- Any concerns or joys about roles
I Must say I was estatic when I was casted as Nia because she was one of my Dream roles. I absolutely love her adorable and sweet and innocentness. Her and Simone are my favorite anime couple of all time. I did have some concerns from when I first was cast as her however because I wasn't sure if I'd ever be able to pull of her high pure yet wispy voice. I had a rough start but I've progressed and am now able to do it very well now.
- Dream Roles
Nia Tepplin ~Oh wait I've already been cast as her >.<
Hatoko Kobayashi - Angelic Layer
Biyomon - Digimon
Sailor Venus - Sailor moon
Blue - Wolfs Rain
Ed - Cowboy bebop
Wow what a wide range of characters XD
- How long you've been in the voice acting game
I've been voice acting for almost 3 years now and I've been cast as alot of random things. A dog, a cat, extras, main characters, and even demons
- Any tips you have for those who're newer
It does seem to be hard cause the world of voice acting is so competative but you have to keep trying. You have to first get your voice out there. Remember every character is important whether they have 1 line or 100 lines.
It's not easy and it'll take awhile if you start from scratch. It took me 2 years to be able to get a steady stream of roles and even then the roles were still relatively small. It's only been within this new year that I've been getting a steady stream of roles. I've gotten: Misaki Suzuhara, Nia Tepplin, Female Extras, Genome's Princess', Giha Girl, and Kaorin and that was with me not really auditioning for much.
When you finally do get a steady stream of roles make sure you're carefull not to overload yourself. I know it's glamorous to get lots of roles and such but don't bite off more then you can chew. Take it one step at a time.
Also ask for critiques whenever possible. A good critique should tell you what you've done wrong or what you can do to improve. Critiques can sometimes seem hurtful or mean but that's the only way to learn. besides the critiquer only wants what's best for you and to help you improve.
- Name 1 thing you're excited about or looking forward to
Well I just found out from Gurren lagann Producer [fandub of course] that he will be releasing the Gurren lagann production this weekend. I'm looking forward to seeing how it turned out. I played alot of roles in the production. [In order of Apperance: Giha Girl #1, Female Extras, Lord Genome's Princess', and Nia Tepplin] I'm looking forward to the full production. I've seen some of the previews and the producer really knows what he's doing.
ok I'll shut up now XD
However a side note: If you wish for a critique on any fandubbing I will be more then happy to help out. I will say that I don't hold back as far as critiques go and even though I may seem harsh sometimes I just wish to help you improve. Also I'll try and give tips to help as well.

where do you Voice act?
On Youtube? or on the VAA?
Re: Voice Acting Chat
Hmm..I've never tried talking voice acting, but I love to audition for Mermaid Melody fandubs, singing as one of them. I can do Seira pretty well, (she has like a cutesy but mature voice) so I guess I'm good at those kind of voices...And coco, who sounds a lot like me, just a little lower...I'm sure I can do more, those are just my best.
I've never tried out for a real fandub of something besides a song, but I got into one of those youtube casts once where they make a new channel that like 7 or 8 people share, and they upload dubs of all the people singing a song as their corresponding mermaid.
I don't know what roles I could expect to get if I tried real voice acting, but I would expect to get some kind of cutesy voice, (if I got anything at all..) I don't really have any roles I would go seeking out to audition either, I would just try them as they come.
I do all of my singing dubs on YouTube..I'm too young for VAA.

Oh! I auditioned once for a YGO fandub on Youtube. I auditioned for Adina/Edina/Mary(Female ver. of Mokuba in the Virtual Game), Otogi's/Duke's fangirls and Kuriboh. Yeah, small parts.
I'm not sure if I made it though...

Yaaay~I love VA long time. XD I'm on the VAA, but I haven't been really active because of school and stuff ><
Normally I think I do more scripting for people then mixing or VAing... 8'D I scripted this clip and this other clip for friends before, so...yeah. XD
That's the last thing I was in. =D I was Canaan... I hope it's okay. XDDD I don't have a very anime voice, hahaa. 8'D
@BRS VAA isn't really a specific group, it's just a web forum... so you can just join and audition, they pretty much welcome anyone 8'D

Re: Voice Acting Chat
@Ate_Tenshi: I must say it does help alot. As you get more comfortable with your voice you start being able to speak out more confidently and with that you can play around with different pitches and accents to broaden your vocal range.
@Klaus von Wolfstadt: First off lol Klaus from Wolf city? Interesting name I like it. Though I could be totally wrong on that. If so just disregard XD Anyways Voice acting is fun. It's mainly a female dominated activity however there are some really awsome male voice actors. Everyone's voice is unique. It took me up until recently to realize that I have a medium to high vocal range. You should give it a try it's very fun and the feeling when you've been cast as someone even if it's a small role feels AMAZING.
@BRS: That was really adorable. I love the emotions you put into your character. I know what you mean as far as multilingual fandubbing is concerned. There's hardly any auditions for fandubs other then english ones. If I come across any on the VAA I'll let you know kay?
As for little kids voices that's awsome not alot of people can pull them off and sound so natural like you did. I give you props.
@Naoko Mangetsu: Wow what an impressive amount of roles. It's always fun to see fandubs in different languages cause you get to see how they figure out the emotions and how to fit the words in with the lip flaps >.<
I look forward to your future productions.
@Mong: Yes I've seen you around the VAA. I love your voice it's so crisp and pretty. /fangirling Anyways I want to hear you in more projects. I know the feeling of being on the VAA and not really voice acting. I havn't been in anything recently. The most recent thing has to be Rohalo's Machnima series "The Judgeman" The new episode should be out soon. Though this weekend Semisoma1 is planning to start releasing the Gurren Lagann movie "Gurren-Hen" my main role for that is Nia Tepplin. I was so estatic cause she was a dream role I had.

Re: Voice Acting Chat
I used to audition for Fanimes and such >w<
But I never got in, or they canceled the fanime.
I just removed all my auditions from my channel, I can't voice act very good in English, I think I can in Dutch.
Someone was doing this Dutch fandub of Higurashi no Naku koro ni, and I had a Dutch Dear You, so I submitted that. They would use it as Theme song for the dub but they canceled it ._.
This was the superlong trailer:
>w< NOTE: It was one of my first dubs! So bad mixing and singing 8D .

I've never voice acted before, but I've always wanted to dub Rika or Mion from the Higurashi series... sadly, all the auditions I saw on Youtube were closed, or cancelled... ^^"
Re: Voice Acting Chat
When I was 12 I had an interest in amateur voice acting and frequented the VAA. I even got into a few roles, but then because of my own laziness and lack of good microphone I just stopped doing it xD

Re: Voice Acting Chat
I've voice acted for a bit. But not much people actually go through with mixing and such.. I usually just voice act in my own stuff
Above is my most recent role as Lyle 8D From gundam wing 8D? I think... I don't like that show .. xD
I do good impressions of disney and nintendo characters or pokemon characters .
Impressions I do :
Princess Peach
Mario
Luigi
Mickey mouse
James [From pokemon]
Donald duck
that should give you a decent look into my range. xD
I haven't voice acted for long. As I do audition for stuff but.. They never go through ... So thats where I stopped voice acting and started singign . 8D xD And thus razzyness was born on youtube 833 and the one thing everyone knows me fore. " The magnet dude" 8D
Re: Voice Acting Chat
Umm..did anybody see what I wrote? I joined the VAA but I'm not getting my activation email...does anybody know how to resend it..?
@Razzy: That's because you ARE the magnet dude. XDDD

@Jay-Shay: Uh, you may have to email the Admins/mods about that. If you go on their profile page you can get their email and ask them about it. If you put own the under-13 thing, then all I know is that you have to get your parents to agree to it before you get the account activated...or something. ><
