How do I audition?

hmm not sure whether this has been answered before,

Are we allowed to audition in another language?

As in for example rolling girl has a good english cover, can we audition in english for that song?

Oh oh ME! Um...I don't really audition with a mic. More of a camera mic which I then upload into the computer. Would that be ok?

I hope this helps but in ytc it's always about effort and quality XD
So it sorta depends. If your camera mic is really bad quality (like buzzing noises or you can't hear your voice clearly) that mean you need to get a mic. but some camera mics can be super good XDD

Good mics are always really expensive but there are some that's cheap and really good (like the mic I use XD) if you have rockband or singstar, you can use their mic because from what I heard it's SUPER good quality XD

I also use my camera, just make sure you have a good quality, as stated above.. ^_^

@play: I'm not 100% sure, but I think unless specified audition in the language of the original. :O

@DaRkanGel: You can still audition, no fear. XD A heads up though; a camera mic normally records at a lower quality and may affect whether you get chosen or not.

I'm pretty sure it's not really..well, allowed? Unless the rules stated it's ok of course. But I think, if you are auditioning, it's best to sing the original song lyric because the judges wants to judge your overall ability to sing the actual song.

Well everytime there is an audition for a chorus of a certain song, well you have to audition singing that song unless it's an audition to show your singing abilities or something. So for example, if it's an audition for melt then I have to sing the song melt though some of the auditions says that you can sing different versions of the certain song like band edition or something 8D There are other songs to choose from in the "Groupdubs" section but they are not "officially" YTC work. You can make your own groupdub and do auditions and such to make a chorus or you can audition for one 8D

1. Is improvising(like, singing notes in the pauses of the vocals) allowed in auditions/sending in vocals for the final chorus? I'm pretty sure it is but just checking ^^;
2. Why are effects allowed in auditions, but not in the send ins? I mean, it's great that we can use effects, but what if the voice sucks without the effects? (like mine ;3;)

Yup that's fine. It adds a touch of personalization. Because most people who hold auditions look for voice quality, mic quality, quality of improvizations, and what they need for their chorus. It's not just about you singing a song, but how you sing it. Sometimes, this is how the audition holders decide if they should use someone's harmony or not. It's like a preview of what you can offer.

I assume if your voice can be fixed using effects, we can fix it too. Besides, i think the auditioners can try asking for your voice and checking it themselves by sending in your raw. Did you know that some people do have weird mic issues, sing off key, or sing too loud, but the end product is still beautiful. You just need to know how to fix it.

How does the whole process work? I mean... EVERYTHING. Is YT chorus one big chorus, from which the moderators pick out some people to do a song, or are there mini-choruses inside, and mods pick out the best one for an entire song...? Or... yeah.

Hey, I have a question that kind of relates to auditions...

When you audition the host asks you to post a picture. Where do people generally get their pictures from? Is it ok to use pictures that you find on the internet, or do you have to make your own? Seems like a dumb question but, you know, just wanted to make sure.

You can also find pictures in Piapro and Pixiv. You can draw your own pictures if you want to too.
