still haven't made a chorus. Posted another cover late last night and only 2 views. Heck, none of my stuff is that popular anyways, and usually if I get anything, it's a comment about the pictures. Bannedstory is easy to use to make custom pictures, I like to have some sort of trademark on my singing videos. Geez, if you don't like the picture, tab out while the song is playing ><

What is it with all of the "lololol no audition send in lines!" choruses? I understand we want to be super-inclusive, but doesn't having NO screening process make for choruses that absolutely suck? I could understand if you want to have, maybe fifty people-- to make a choir or something--

but to me, "non-audition" means "necessarily low-quality," and "necessarily low-quality" equates, in my mind, to spam. Why are you spamming the boards??
Okay, okay, freedom of expression. But what if you went to buy peanut butter, and had to dig through mounds and piles and heaps of haphazard, makeshift, non-standard peanut butter to get to something reasonably safe to eat. Not even tasty, just SAFE. something that won't make you Sick.

What if you chose an outfit to wear, and realized half-way through (the day) that it had been torn? Or that it was covered in snot, or drenched in urine, or that someone had take a large permanent marker and written "COCK" in big letters across the front of it? What if your boots fell apart on a snowy day, or that your skirt was really made entirely of maggots?

Why should we listen to bad music? Why should we have to? Why would you make bad music? Why would you make it that much harder...

Again, Hiatus. This doesn't mean what it's supposed to mean, anymore. Now it means, "I'm quitting and forgetting all about this project, and leaving the rest of you guys hanging, expecting me to come back and finish it."
I think the best thing to do in that case is to elect a new leader (mixer, whatever) and carry on regardless.

If you want to be in a chorus, start one yourself.

So depressed. Yeah, what am I supposed to do? I wanna cover but I can't even do proper recording. My house is all noisy and I'm really annoyed. Should I rent a studio instead? It just means "you can't cover popular/new anime songs", to me.
At one point I envied other people whose stuff haven't been taken down although they're singing the same song / a song from the same anime--even though it's been what, months? And me? Like a week after uploading, it got taken down immediately. Not that writing a counter claim will work.

The ridiculous thing is, every claim I got was from Sony. Who... are you... again?
It's not okay on YouTube, but it's definitely fine on Nico Nico Douga. I can move (and I have cross-posted a number of times), but why can't I do things which is /supposed to be/ fine?

I try not to really care about this but sometimes the thought just bugs me.

Haha wow. Another complaint. Guess I'm being much of a complainer today... Think of me as arrogant, harsh or whatever you like... I'm just complaining to an imaginary wall here. It shouldn't really bother you as I'm just a stranger. This has been bugging me for a while, but I'll just write this now...


What is it with some people sending auditions...

A lot of times I hear random auditions from random people just because, and I just don't understand--they can't even sing the lyrics right. I guess I can let minor off notes slide, but the lyrics, the most important part of singing a song? I find it funny that some people can't even pronounce (sometimes, even a huge portion of) the lyrics correctly that I think to myself, "what is this person singing" yet they're handing the recording as an audition.

Don't you guys bother to learn how to sing the song before you actually hand an audition in? I see people getting super enthusiastic to join a chorus then handing in auditions that sound like they only listen to the song once then oneshot it without any practice. Or worse, when the lyrics sound like random mumblings, notes are way off and the tempo is all over the place.

I understand that you people might reaaaaaaallly really like a song that you feel an obligation to post and audition and be part of a chorus of it (especially in recently-popular fast, catchy songs, maybe?). But please, make sure you can sing the song properly first. Posting just one audition where you master the song thoroughly is way better than posting an awful lot of halfassed auditions of different songs. Or did you think you could get in just fine so you didn't care how your audition sounded?

It may just be me being hard to satisfy (applies in what I do too), though. If you guys think mumblings that sound like you invented your own lyrics are decent, then suit yourself. It's not gonna get you far unless you don't raise your standards though, in my opinion.


p.s. I think it'd be nice to get into an Uraomote Lovers chorus, but because I know I can't sing all the parts correctly yet, I'm not gonna audition for any open choruses of that song for the moment. That's how I think, do you think like that?

I have to agree with you Shizuru. I don't put something out until it's perfect and even then I'm not very happy. If it's like "Eh, I'm gonna just shoot through this and see how it goes" just-for-fun it's cool, but for an audition, learn lines please.

Yeah, Shizuru pretty much put the whole thing into words.
I do have a difference of concept, though: To me, tune and musicality are more important, lyrics being second. After all, "we're not singing words, we're singing notes that people interpret as words."
Then again, a cover on YT where The Whole Thing Is In The Wrong Key (because her mixer was lazy, or maybe just stupid), or ones with terrible missed notes will get congratulations. Whereas, a single "misheard lyric" in an otherwise masterfully executed piece will get nitpicked and nitpicked. I suppose in the end, you can pitch-change a missed note, but it's harder to remix a word (may as well just rip their vocals into an UTAU while you're at it).

Caring about quality, I think, is the most important part. Even if you do your best, and you still suck, at least you did your best, and nobody can ask more of you than that.
If you sent in an audition that sucked, but I thought it was the best of your ability (or, you know, pretty good), I'd still include you (generally).

What we hate (Speak for yourself!) What I hate is the people who suck who, it is pretty obvious DIDN'T BOTHER to take the time not to suck. Where they could have not sucked, if they spend more than ten minutes on the thing.

Hating all my health related issues ever since my wisdom teeth got removed several weeks back. Kinda went like this.

Wisdom teeth surgery -> Swelling -> 3 Cavities due to not being able to brush properly while stuck in bed -> 1 Root canal on 1 of the cavities -> Infection in root canal area caused more swelling -> Sick today.....FML....D:
