Rémi's Gallery
Sample Work:
An unfinished piece that I plan to well... not finish [*sweatdrops*]. After a year of drawing on paper, I convert to tablet! Well... my cousin's tablet [I only wish I had a tablet -broke-]! Sorry, it's my first time using tablet so hands were shaky but getting better [XD]. I like to work with Blacks, Whites and Grays. Hope you like~

Not that I really use this account, I just like to say that I have an account ^_^

mmhmmm...money is not something we as students have TToTT
i'm hoping to save up this year to buy a tablet (among other things)
may i ask if you know the model of your tablet? i'm collecting information about which one most artists use

Re: Rémi's Gallery
Oh dear, I only wish it was my tablet but I do have a little info on it. Fortunately for my cousin, her's is a PC tablet. When she bought her HP laptop, there was a built in wacom tablet in it. [I got the same laptop but HP decided to be cheap and gave me an Ntrig laptop with no touch sensitivity] TT_TT
Wacom is suppose to be a very good company for tablets. It has sensitivity [please make sure when you buy one it does!]. Model, I'm not sure but you could always check the company website ^_^
I'm searching for one as well so we could exchange info!

Re: Rémi's Gallery
Yes! We should~
I was planning to start out with the simple Bamboo from Wacom, but i heard that it wasn't that good.

Re: Rémi's Gallery
I think the bamboo would be okay-ish from what I hear ^_^
I haven't heard of any specfic model that's really good but people say that
you should try to aim for a decent size tablet. Nothing too small, oh geez, definately not something small! Not necessarily buy the most expensive because that's what some forums say which I think is ridiculous ^^'

Re: Rémi's Gallery
XD you mean like hte Intuos4 from Wacom?
oh gosh that thing is so sexy....TABLET and LCD MONITOR in one? <3
but so expensive <\3
of course i'd like a medium sized tablet so it's portable yet large enough for drawing things.
Thing is...if i get a good one, it would last for a while and i wouldn't have to save up for another. hmmmmm

Re: Rémi's Gallery
Yeah! But I need to check if those are good for drawing because I think they might categorize them if they're good or drawing or not.
They are the sex XD
That's a good point, I wonder if those things have warentees. [I saw these pair of $200 earbuds that had a 10 year warentee. Those things must be built really nicely if they have 10 years on them @.@]

Re: Rémi's Gallery
yea, but think of the possibilities with that sexy thing~
i wonder if people actually buy those things....so expensive
is it really different, transitioning from paper to tablet?

Re: Rémi's Gallery
Probably really wealthy @.@
Well, I find there is a difference. I feel like my drawings are enhanced ^_^
Before, I did the regular drawing, scanning and all that jazz and lineart was such a pain. I liked looking at the naturally lines and waves my pencil had and when I linearted it, it didn't have that anymore so I was a little sad at that fact. They looked inked, professional looking and everything in between. Also it's less work so I like it a lot. I guess it depends on what your drawing preference is. I like the whole natural drawing look if that made sense XD

Re: Rémi's Gallery
mm mm *nods* makes sense
i like the natural flow of a pencil too, and was wondering if that was going to change.
When I lineart I like using the Fade alot...like...a LOT...to try to mimic the thickness and such of the lines, but it's not the same
Hopefully a tablet will be fun~

Re: Rémi's Gallery
When I linearted, it was so plain boring for me... well the work was tedious so that's probably why I didn't like it. Tablet is like linearting and drawing at the same time, I love it XD
I think Tablet will be fun for you n_n
And I think tere is a way to lineart so that it still looks professional but you have to have inking pens, scan it into photoshop and mask and such.

Re: Rémi's Gallery
yea.....i kinda cheat when i lineart stuff....sometimes i just clean up my sketches before and after scanning them in so that the lines come our somewhat clean~
Thing is, i fail with inking.....my hands are often too shaky. That's why when i draw with pencil it ends up with so many lines that i can't tell exactly what shape i drew =A=. That's why linearting or inking on the computer is easier, because when i mess up, i don't ruin the drawing (which is what i often do)

Re: Rémi's Gallery
Yeah ^^ You're definitely going to like tablet. I only linearted something by inking ONCE because I would get so nervous that I'll mess up with the inking pens but I gotta say, those pens do add really nice touches to your pictures, although I never really scanned a drawing where I used those pens *sweatdrops*.
By the way, how do you lineart on the computer? I used to use the pentool and such, is there any other way to lineart it?

Re: Rémi's Gallery
hmmm other ways to lineart?
i mostly use the pen tool since my hands shake a lot and i like the smooth lines the pen tool makes. My friend does everything with the mouse manually, but it's really hard......
One time i was messing around and i took one of my cleaned up sketches and stuck it under the "PHOTOCOPY" filter and it looked pretty nice, but still had some speckles and whatnot that littered the picture =\
Most of the time i get lazy and don't use any Fade with the pen tool because i end up not applying the right fade to certain lines.

Re: Rémi's Gallery
@irO-san: When you say fade, do you mean simulate pressure? I also feel a little bad for artist that don't have the money or technology or etc. to lineart their things to look professional. There are many artists out there that seriously have a gift with just pencil but don't get enough attention because it's just pencil. One of my favorite pencil artist though is Gofu [although I think she uses a few other tools but is still able to preserve that pencil sketch look] ^^
I don't particular draw in her style but it's adorable
Ta da~!
@ Rin Nano: I'm glad that you like it! ^_^

@Caramel: Thanks you! ^_^
Note to everyone: Just wondering but for female drawers, do you tend to feel like drawing guys is harder? And for Male Drawers, do you tend to feel like drawing girls is harder? [Not suggesting that it's the case for everyone but just wondering.

I think drawing guys is harder than drawing girls... *still has to practise a lot with drawing guys*

Re: Rémi's Gallery
Regarding your question, i find it harder to draw kids XD
males and females are equal in difficulty for me because i follow certain guidelines for both. I can never draw kids......
By "fade" i did mean simulate pressure. Takes a while to get the right pressure though.
I've got great news!!! I recently got my hands on a tablet!!!
nothing fancy of course, just a simple Bamboo to get me going

Ah, this is so late, but I feel like I need to reply to this:

It's so true ; A ;
I'm so used to drawing women that drawing men is almost an impossible task for me. But I have met women who only draw men, so it doesn't really seem that much of a gender-based thing. I guess it's just more of what you started drawing and eventually got accustomed to making?
Also, cool new picture~! Her top's cut-off point might be a little bit too low though. I love the soft pastel coloring style. So light, clean and pretty <3
