I haven't done anything related to art in like a year and a half, and I literally haven't drawn in 2+ years so cut me some slack 8D;;. Anyway, I was just fooling around with Colors, a DS application which gives you a sort of Oekaki board like thing to draw on, pressure sensitivity and all 8D! So it's like a mini tablet!

And listening to NataP's "1000001colors" made me really feel like drawing, so whyyy notttt XD. Anyway I sort of drew Gumi with that song in mind, but it wasn't quite as sad as I'd have liked it to be. OH WELL.

@Adrian: I don't draw, period. I'm no artist 8D. I fudged up the hair while doing the skin but...I got too lazy to fix it 8D. It's so hard to use!!!!!!!!! I WANT LAYERS.

From a week ago I think, played on Colors DS again! It's an icon I drew for Wato, who's a Vocaloid composer 8D. He's mostly a 100% pianist composer so y'know, I aptly drew him playing the piano 8D! IN CHIBI FORM OH YEAH.

Aaaand probably the first decent thing I've drawn in the past two years? And even then it's still about an hour-ish scrap XD. I borrowed my sister's tablet and SAI and decided to play around. I totally do NOT know how to use SAI so uh, sob. It's GUMI...again! As if I even draw anything else 8D;;.

I'm really just not good at drawing anything except simple face-only stuff so ;_;. I really really would love how to draw cute poses without fucking up proportions and stuff ><

Colors DS is so much fun. It's like an oekaki board on the go!

Anyway, just a couple of pieces that I drew recently while I've been in Malaysia and stealing my sister's tablet!

First, something I drew to celebrate Miku's birthday, which was end of last month! Ignore the dodgy hand...I...cannot draw hands ;_;. Only my second time touching SAI, so still fiddling with it and totally having no idea how to use it at all 8D

Next is just me trying to practice compositions and different types of colouring, as well as drawing lineart, because I am incapable of drawing lineart orz! I've never tried cold/blueish colouring before, so this was quite an experience 8D. I loved the hair the most, definitely. GUMIIIIIIIIIIII <3

Aaaand last one, which I just did the other day, is uh...idk, it's like a walking disaster. It's the first time I've done an image/fan illustration (based on emon's beauuuutiful Luka song with absolutely gorgeous PV art, HOLIDAY). Again, trying to be slightly more creative with compositions because I can't draw face-shots forever 8D;;;. I have nooo idea. I coloured the foreground and background differently and it wouldn't blend whatsoever until I ran a shitload of filters in PS orz. In the end, it sort of looks a biiiit like a copic drawing, but idk. Again, ignore the dodgy arms 8D.

I would, however, suggest paying more attention to proportion and practicing that. You can draw and you have lots of potential (:!

Proportion's always been something I've never had an eye for, anime-style or otherwise. There's a reason my art teacher suggested I do abstract back in high school....;_;. My problem is I KNOW the proportions are out but I have no idea how to fix it orz

November '10
This is shortly after I started trying out what Japanese call "atsunuri", or thick colouring...which I think is called lineless colouring to english speakers? *no idea* I was still groping around with SAI because I had no idea how to use it rofl. Proportions? WHAT'S THAT. (Also I developed a liking for a really childish-style of deforming characters because it's easy to get away with being unable to do the whole proportion stuff /enjoys avoiding the reality of sucking at drawing)

December '10/January '11
I'm still doing that thing where I like drawing really young-looking characters >:. I also think I fell into a one-pattern pose because of my inability to do...poses.....>>;;. The first one might be the only difference....not, it's still dark (even more so by my attempt to avoid drawing faces by just not drawing it at all /o/), I like my dark colour as much as I like the muted ones, and I like drawing dark stuff...which juxtaposes my cute...characters...:'D

February '11 (so far anyway)
YAY MONTH OF EXPERIMENTING (aka avoiding school work and PV work). So like I'm actually trying really hard to draw guys (I blame my Inazuma Eleven fangirl boom 8D), and slightly older, more "realistic" characters...and failing, but shh. I also have been practicing lineart, because uh, I really suck at it and have been avoiding it by doing lineless colouring or just sketching lmao. LINEART IS HARD K. I HAVE NO CONCENTRATION ABILITY FOR IT. I LIKE FIGURING DETAILS AS I GO >_>;;.

I think in general I prefer thinking up actual whole pieces of art, rather than character's just posing and stuff? Though I wish I could get better at drawing poses or expressions >: I cheat with the closed-eyes or blank stare thing way too much OTL
