All right, so I've been spending some time recently trying to figure out riddles. Going to toss a few up here at a time. ^-^ If you know the answer, please spoiler it. If you have any questions, please phrase them as a yes/no question. Try not to Google the answer, as that spoils the fun. 
- 1. Flossy returned to her apartment one evening to find that it hand been broken into and vandalized. Pictures were smashed, personal letters were ripped, furniture was slashed, obscene graffiti written on the wall, and her favorite dresses torn. Flossy told Shadow that she suspected her ex-boyfriend, Sid Shady. Shadow went to see Shady and explained that Flossy's apartment had been broken into. Shady said he knew nothing about it, but would be happy to help catch the person who wrote such nasty things and caused such damage. Shadow spoke with Shady for a few more minutes then told him he was under arrest for the crime. How did he know that Shady was the vandal?

SOLVED (but feel free to tackle it anyway \o\)
2. Hundreds of people, including Gertrude, died when Gertrude entered the plane, but no one blames her. Why?
