Utaite / Youtaite Discovery iOS App: Seeking Input / Gauging Interest

Hi all,

I'm working on development for an app that will help members of the community discover new artists to listen to, and I'm hoping to get some input / feedback on potential features so that it will be as good of an app as possible.

If all goes well, the initial version will allow users to add themselves to the database, get suggestions on new artists based on certain preferences (like voice type, language, etc.), and search the database of artists/songs.

I set up a survey here to gather some information, but messages/posts here would be greatly appreciated as well.

I am also looking for potential beta testers to test (both for bugs and user experience) so that I will be able to iterate as efficiently as possible. If development continues at this rate (and I don't run into any roadbumps), a working prototype should be ready in a week or two from now.

It'd be great if I could get a few responses (and maybe even some tester signups)! Also, please feel free to ask any questions you may have

This seems like a really cool idea!! This seems more like a possible youtaite social media type network than just a way to find other youtaites and discover their works. I really like this idea though, so I think it would work with just being for that single purpose as well. (i got that idea from the web version question)

I was thinking of starting with the MVP being just something simple like that, and potentially moving on to something bigger.


An early feature of a more "social network" kind (maybe a month or so post-launch) could be a way for users to initiate collaborations (or like push a button saying that they're open to collaborate so that people can be paired up). I did notice that I got responses from both inside and outside of the community, and I feel like there may be some merit in making separate apps for those who watch / listen to utaite and for content creators themselves.

Fortunately, I've been getting a lot of great feedback and ideas! I'm hoping to be able to begin preliminary UX testing by the end of summer.
