[EVENT] Blind Duet 2015 [CLOSED]

"No!" Choko screamed as  the small hand slipped through his fingers. 
It all started last year. Mi-tan has always been the star in the teachers' eyes. The perfect student... Highest grades in the school, kind to others, respectful to her elders... She was the daughter every parent wished for. Everyone wanted to be in her place.
But it was just the surface.
"Why didn't you try to understand?" He cried as his voice shaked. "Why didn't any of you... see how much she was suffering?"
She never wanted to be this person. But it was all expected from her. While everyone depended on her, while everyone expected the perfect results from her, no one took a second to stop and think what Mi-tan actually wanted. 
The boy forced himself to stand up with his face covered in tears, and moved towards the door of the rooftop.
Her whole future was planned without her consent. She was to graduate high school with top grades. She was to attend a prestigious college and become a succesful lawyer just as her parents expected from her. 
One would say that every parent would want their children to be succesful but what about their happiness? They never considered that, they never noticed her love for art, they never realized that she always dreamed of being a manga artist. They wouldn't allow her, a manga artist is not what the grown ups would call a successful career. 
But is it worth it? Being envied by others for your child's success, being able to brag about it... Is it all worth it if in the end, your actions, ambitions, expectations drove your child into a corner of despair?
"Is it worth it..." He thought. "If your precious daughter gives up on life?" His hand reached for the door while the image of his best friend's lifeless body flashed in his mind.

The dark streets were lit with just a few streetlights and seemed to fit the cold air that continued to cling to his body.

He let out a soft sigh as he stood before the door and as he did so, he noted that his breath was clearly visible in the vague light that surrounded him.

He took a deep breath, then he brought his finger to the doorbell and pressed on it. The sound echoed through the house and he could hear the footsteps of someone getting closer to the door before it opened.

She was half-sunk into the couch as she waited for him to arrive. As her mind started to drift, she heard it-- The doorbell chimed and echoed through the house. The resounding echo had caused her to nearly jump from her seat. In an instant, she had come to her senses and walked toward the door. When she had reached the long hallway, she listened to the rhythm of her footsteps as they tapped out the pattern of her walking toward the door. As usual, he was on time, she had thought. She quickly adjusted her maroon-colored hair again before she pressed her hand on the handle, opening the door in front of her.

"Ah, Tsukurin~"  

"Hey, Suba."

Standing in front of her was her best friend of the same age, Tsukurin. Even though it was a cold day today, his clothing was a mere winter sweater and a black knit cap that covered his white-colored hair, though thick, they clearly could not keep the elements at bay on their own.

His choice of clothing brought a small smile to her lips.

“Really, what he was thinking?” She thought, but never put it it to words. Instead, she began their conversation on a different note.

"It's time already?"

"Time flies when you don’t want it to as usual.”

“Yeah, really…”

“Are you ready to go?”

"...Yeah, I guess it’s time to go."

It was the usual conversation between to the two, but why was it that their usual conversation felt so different to her on this occasion?

That question was pointless, for she already knew the answer. Suba let out a soft sigh as she reached over for her coat and muffler.

He had come today to escort her to the train station. After today, it was quite likely that the two would not be able to meet again for a long time. After today she wouldn’t be here in this city anymore. It had been a few months since their high school graduation.

Though they had been together for quite a while, now their goals took them down separate paths. Tsukurin chose to remain in the city that they had lived in up until now, and Suba decided to go to a faraway college. It was so far that even a yearly visit back seemed difficult.

That was why the two of them knew that after today it might be a year, or even many years before they would see each other again.

Despite that, Suba put on her usual smile and walked outside.

Just as Tsukurin was about to head the usual way toward the main road he was stopped by Suba. She pointed at dimly lit path that traveled between the houses in front of them.

"Let’s take this road." She said adventurously.

"Okay, but, I don't know this way."

Tsukurin shrugged and scratched his head a little, which was met with soft laugher from Suba as she began to walk down the path. She found herself slightly surprised, would this really be the first time she had walked down this path with him?

That made it even better for her, she smiled to herself as she took point.
"I’ll lead then." She declared.

The young man quickly caught up and walked beside her. She looked at him with curious eyes, wondering what was on his mind but it seemed he didn’t mind the unfamiliarity of the road they walked. Did he know what she was thinking?

Shrugging those thoughts off of her mind, she felt the cold air touch her hands. Her friend beside her wasn’t even wearing a coat and yet he did not seem fazed at all by the temperature.

"It's coold~!" She remarked.

Suba held her hands up in front of her face and started to blew out against them, trying to warm them up.

"It really is, makes you kind of dislike this season a little right?" He inquired.

Even though he had said that, it seemed as if he didn’t feel the cold at all. Though perhaps it just didn’t matter today. Whichever was the case, even though it was cold to her she couldn’t bring herself to hate this season.

"I’m not that good with the cold but... I actually like this season a little."

"Why is that?"

“You’ll see soon enough.”

Her reply seemed to surprise the white-haired boy beside her, but she only kept a smile on her face as she anticipated his reaction. It wasn’t much further to the place that she wanted to show him.

As a few minutes of silence passed between them, the barely lit surroundings began to change. The scenery around them changed as their view of it was entirely consumed by the sudden contrast. Just as if magic was cast upon the city, the naked trees were lit with various lights.

"Because of this. It’s like magic, isn’t it?"

Just like the lights around them, a bright smile came across Tsukurin’s lips and illuminated the night as he gave a nod. Seeing his smile like that felt nice. It was a smile a that could not possibly be a farce, he truly appreciated the scenery in front of him and that made her happy beyond words. Even with the many years that they had spent together, there were still new things for them to see together.

Hopefully he would remember the view like this and hopefully, whenever he saw this scenery he would think of her.

No, that wasn’t really what she wanted. In reality she had thought how nice it would be if only they could be together every year and see this scenery together.

As much as she would have wanted that, it was something she had decided not to say. Not in the past and not now either. That’s why it was okay like this. She wouldn’t change her mind on it.

Even though her mind was completely made up, she couldn’t help but think back on her feelings while she stood there, and stared at him. Feelings of sadness began to well up inside of her as their eyes met.

She started walking, determined not to stop again. She refused to cry. She resolved herself to this as she felt the soft touch of something very cold fall upon her hands before it dissolved completely to the warmth of her body.

Tsukurin continued to follow the pace the maroon-haired girl set.

“What is she thinking?” He thought to himself.

Not once did he manage to see her smile fade away. Just like every other day they had gone walking out she seemed to have fun, when suddenly she exclaimed.

“Look Tsukurin, it’s the first snow!”

“You’re right!”

He looked at the hand she put up as she pointed at the sky. They had become slightly pale, likely because of how cold they were.

Tsukurin reached into his pockets where he held a set of white gloves. He ran his fingers across them and felt the texture against his skin, wanting to take hold but his hands would not obey.

“How can I give them to her?”

The thought ran through his mind, and with each second that passed the guilt tore at his heart more. He should just give them to her, but if he did that things between them might change. The way things were in that very moment were just right, so comfortable, familiar yet still so distant.

Deep down he realized it though, he kept this distance between them was because he was afraid. He could count them down, the few short moments before she was to leave. If things changed then what they had between them might break.

"Is it really okay like that?" He questioned himself in his mind.

As the two retreated into their individual thoughts, they had reached the train station before either of them had realized. All that remained was to wait until the train arrived, and in the wait neither could bring themselves to say a word.

“Thank you.”

“Goodbye.”

Those two phrases rang out in both of their minds, but which of the two was correct for this situation?

Tsukurin looked at Suba’s shivering body. He couldn’t even muster it within himself to ask a simple question anymore. All he could think of was that right there, in that moment she was really lovely to him and that he wanted to embrace her so badly.

But he couldn’t.

He just simply looked at her and awaited that inevitable final moment of parting. The moment that the train would arrive, the torturous moment that would change everything for the two of them.

Once again their eyes met and they were lost in each other’s gaze.

Lost in her thoughts and his eyes she found that she wanted to be connected. To hold his hand, to have his arms around her and hers around him-- Anything would do.

Her wish was left unfulfilled. No matter how much she desired it, her hands were left empty and cold.

Was this what it meant to say goodbye?

The two continued on, lost in each other in an empty silence, unable to say anything. The train was due in at any moment and the silence was finally broken.

“I have to go.”

“Is it already that time?”

He had found a comfort in the stagnant situation, and found it broken as she spoke. His question was met with a nod, and she turned around to leave to the home platform. As she got up to go, he could take it no more and suddenly grabbed her hand.

He held on tightly, refusing to let go.

“Don’t go...” he wanted to say, but that was something he could not ask of her. If he couldn’t do that, then at the very least, he wanted to stay with her until the last second.

“...Let go of this hand.”

Even though she had said such a thing, and even if she had truly meant it, she was asking for the impossible.

He had never admitted to it aloud, but in his heart he knew. In this moment when all that he felt, and the one he cared most for was to be torn away from him, he could not let go. He loved her, and that was all that he knew in that moment.

He pulled her in closer to him and brought his face to a single breath away from hers, as he did, he lightly pressed his lips against hers. As it all happened, in the moment he could feel her arms wrap around him and her hands lightly grabbed onto his sweatshirt and pulled down. She wasn’t resisting, instead she had become lost in the moment.

It was something she wanted as well. After all this time, they finally managed to express what they could not put into words.

Perhaps it was the relief, so long held back by hesitation that had brought tears rolling down her cheeks like warm drops of summer rain in the snow.
It had all come too late, and perhaps too soon, after all this was to be their parting.

“See you~”

Their lips were barely outside distance of touching as he spoke those words. Even as he spoke them however, he found that there was only the slightest twinge of intention that he held of ever letting her go now.

There were no other words to be had between them.

The tears had come uncontrollably to her eyes. She had resolved not to cry, but here at the end her resolve had failed and she had given in. She had retreated a little, and buried her face into his chest. With her face nestled in the safety to be had, and her body clinging to the comfort of his arms, she finally let go and the light summer rain broke loose into a steady fall. She was held tightly in his arms, face buried into his chest until the time for final goodbyes had come and the choice to stay was all but gone.

As she took steps to board the train, her gaze was locked back on him. Once she boarded, she took a seat by the window and her eyes stared at the station until it had faded from her view. Once she could no longer see the station, and the last trace of him was gone from her view, she closed her eyes and thought to herself;

“By this time next year,
I wonder what kind of me will be there,
and what kind of you will be there?”

Misaaya and Rage, siblings living with parents their whole life. Their life is like a [url=#]continuous[/url] cycle. Go to school, go to work, come home, and sleep. Over and over again. At school, Misaaya’s final exams aren’t up to her expectations. Rage’s manager doesn’t appreciate his work. Misaaya retakes the exam over and over until she got what she wanted: 100%. Rage works and works until he got what he wanted: A smile and promotion from the manager. They ask themselves, “What do I do now?” The two come up with an idea with moving out. There is no more cycle if they break free from living with their parent’s ‘perfection’. They finally decide to move out for good. Their parents refused but Rage tells them “It’s for the better good.” The siblings don’t want to live in a perfect lifestyle.
The two celebrate on breaking the cycle of perfection, walking to a hopeful future and an achievable dream. In the end, they live their life as no logical meaning, as just living their life.
Years later, they have achieved different dreams and accepted different realities and still to find them reminiscing about their ‘perfect’ past.

It happened one day in Literature (Trap) class. Ayasaki had her hand raised in the air because she had a question. She waited and waited and until eventually her arm grew tired and she put it down. But as she did so, Doc. Ikikur asked anyone if they had questions and proceeded to hand out pop quizzes without waiting for anybody's input.

Ayasaki was angry. She failed the quiz and blamed Doc. Ikikur. Then she started a campaign to grab sensei's attention because other students either had the same problems or they were just losers. She started behaving rudely and often shouted at Doc. Ikikur, criticizing their work. She wanted everything to be like the good ol' days again...

Doc. Ikikur and Ayasaki then started to challenge each other, Ayasaki arguing that she isn't a kid anymore and wants to prove herself that she can do things by herself and that she didn't need Doc. Ikikur's stupid teachings. (when will you apply literature/trap class to real life things anyways?) Doc. Ikikur just wanted to put Ayasaki in her place, but she was determined not to give up and keeps finding fault with Doc. Ikikur. So Doc.  Ikikur asks the class if they like them and the class just replies with a yea. Doc. Ikikur then believes Ayasaki is just a rebellious, troubled student and continues to teach their students like any other literature(trap) class.

After class one day when Doc. Ikikur was watching their students leave, they realized what they were forever alone. While Doc. Ikikur was crying silently in the inside, Ayasaki gave her hand in comradeship. She wanted to help Doc. Ikikur with their problems which in turn sparked something in Doc. Ikikur and they wanted to watch Ayasaki grow up and succeed in life as well as their other students. (only doing it for the influential teacher award e.e) They lived happily ever after. The end.
 

We wanted to do a Len/Rin duet and settled on this song because it is a good song and the story is really interesting. Touching feels. Right in the kokoro. 

Once upon a time, there was a high school called Youtaite High. The school festival was coming up and all classes were required to create an attraction. Some classes wanted to do a haunted house, while others thought about maid cafes. One class in particular settled on a musical for the popular fairy tale of "Little Red Riding Hood." Deeming the normal story too bland, the class created an alternate story of "Little Red Riding Hood" after hours of deliberation and drafting, one about the unrequited love of the wolf and red riding hood. The script was complete. Now, casting. 
     
The actor who will play the wolf is obvious to all: Shuuki, the most popular boy in the school, happy-go-lucky with good looks. But who will play the red riding hood? The girls in class vied for the leading female role and a chance to get closer to Shuuki, causing chaos in the classroom for several days. To end this madness, the class president convinced the girls to leave the decision up to chance. He prepared a container with popsicle sticks and the girls had to draw one stick. Whoever had the stick with the red end was to be the main actress. Gingerly, all the girls in class drew a stick and wrapped their hands around the end with the results. On the count of three, they all opened their fists. Cries and curses filled the classroom and heads spun in all directions to find the red stick. Everyone's eyes landed on one person: the quietest girl in class, MiNT. 

Protests erupted, demanding a redo of the draw. 
"She can't act or sing!" 
"She's too shy!" 
"MiNT never talks in class, how can she play the most important role?"
The class president screamed at the top of his lungs in a failed attempt to settle the class down. He looked helplessly at Shuuki, who just smiled. 
"Guys," said Shuuki, flashing a smile. "Let's calm down a bit." The class immediately simmered down, as expected. After all, it was Shuuki who was talking. The class president began speaking again, 
"I know some of you aren't happy, but we all decided to let luck decide. She's the main role now, unless she doesn't want to do it?" Everyone looked expectantly at MiNT, who was still holding the winning stick in her hands. 
"I..." she says hesitantly. Her eyes peered around the class until they met Shuuki's. He smiled at her, making her blush. She looked down to the red stick in her hands, thinking. 
"MiNT?" the class president asked. MiNT looked up to her name. "Do you want to do it?" Looking at Shuuki once again, she steeled her mind. 
"I'll do it," she says quietly. The girls groaned or sighed at their bad fortune, missing a chance to work with the most popular boy in school.
"So it's decided," says the class president. "Now, who wants to do the stage work?" As the rest of class decided their roles for the musical, Shuuki went up to MiNT and said, "Let's work well together, kay?" With a blush, MiNT gave a small nod. 

The days went by quickly, the class busy preparing for the musical. Shuuki and MiNT rehearsed for hours on a day, polishing their acting and singing skills. They grew closer and were quite comfortable with each other. The class was pleasantly surprised when they found MiNT to be .  The day of the spring festival soon came upon Youtaite High. Many people came to the musical enticed by the rumors of an interesting story (and of course, to see Shuuki). 
"Are you nervous?" Shuuki asked MiNT backstage, right before the start of the performance. 
"A little bit..." MiNT replied, butterflies fluttering in her stomach. She had never done anything like this before. Seeing her nervousness, Shuuki attempted to soothe her fears. 
"Good luck!" He smiled gently and MiNT's spirits lifted immediately. 
"Un!" 

They both went to their places and took deep breaths. 
"One, two." "Let's go." 
The clapping thundered and the curtains opened. The show begun.

The curtains closed to a loud standing ovation and flying flowers thrown on stage. The musical went extremely smoothly and the viewers were very satisfied. The two performers stepped off the stage, smiling at the show's success. 

"Umm..." MiNT started. 
"Yes, MiNT-chan?" 
".... Shuu-kun?" MiNT grabbed the sleeve of Shuuki's costume. 
"Eh?", Shuuki exclaimed, surprised at MiNT's gesture. 
"I... I like you!", MiNT declared shyly, her face beet red. She then turned around and ran away, leaving behind a flabbergasted Shuuki. 

How did Shuuki respond to MiNT's feelings? No one knows, because this is the end of the story mwahaha.
