Xayr's Covers n stuff

Hey guys, I'm Xayr and I'm pretty new to this Youtaite stuff, but I'd love some feedback on my first video!!

you have good control woww

OMG! I love jazz (except I don't have that great control/voice that suits jazz as much .__.  it's more for ballads for slow tempo'd ~ish songs).

But wow. your voice. is so heavenly. It sounds nice with jazz~ I have to agree with Kimoi on your control though! The notes are carried out excellently, you connect your phrases smoothly, and your breath takes are elegant/graceful. They aren't like HUOOOOOO (no big back wolf here) or really loud/disturbing the song. AND WHOA. YOUR ENGLISH IS PRETTY TOO. It's very clear! In jazz, there are a lot of slurs so sometimes the words are meshed together--but you made them clear/cut them off without making it sound rigid. It still sounds jazzy too! I also like your choice of volume variations throughout the song. It starts off soft but increases in power. You also had areas where there was crescendo/decrescendo going on and I love it! I'll be looking forward to more covers from you ;D  *need to sub on my private acct*

haha, thank you so much. I put a good bit of work into getting the melody and rhythm to match (like my folder was full of 8 second clips..). I have some covers in the works right now - I just finished recording a portion of it - and there should be more coming!!

No I will not stop *^* huehuehue. I shall keep walls of text comments coming~ though sometimes I'm lazy


but wow! 8 sec clips o-o;; that's some dedication!! The largest folder of clips I had only had 7 files. For a 4 min song...that's a lot of clips o[]o; But I assure you all the work was well worth it! Good luck~ I'll be on the lookout :3  one day...I hope to duet with you. First--I need to get better~ (and finish all my current projects ^^;


On another note, since you're new, just thought I'd point out it's okay to double post in this thread if there is new content--so...usually what we do is keep everything in one post, quote someone and/or @ [insert name here] so that's it's all compiled. Alright guys, this time I covered Nohi-san's acoustic version of "Sarishinohara" (and no, Miss Chalili and I did not plan this lol)

I was going to just do the regular version, but I heard the acoustic and I thought, "Well, one, I can't mix, and two, I can put more emotion into this one" 

And so I did.

This song fits your voice very well! I think a lot of people feel more confident singing slower songs or slower arrangements of songs~

btw I think your mixing is decent enough (I can't mix either tho)

I agree with Kimoi, song is super fitting. >w< I like the style you chose to sing with. There's this slight tension in your voice that matches the meaning of the song and the instrumental really well. The switch back and forth between English and Japanese is different, too. :D
