[MONTHLY THEME] April: Poetry ~ Due April 30th!
April is the month of spring and flowers and allergies. For this monthly theme however, we will be doing...
Poetry!
Because April is the month of poetry! Every April, the United States and Canada celebrate poets and poetry for the entire month. This month, we would like to celebrate the producers, composers, arrangers, artists, and writers who have helped create poetic music and art.
The focus this time will be on the lyrics. Pick a song that uses figurative language or has a deeper meaning than the lyrics imply at first. This means that this theme will be very broad, so have fun with it!
Guidelines
Not sure what to do?
Please post your entries in this thread. Include the title of the piece that you have done. If you have a portfolio, you can upload it to your portfolio (ex. in Share Your Work) and then LINK to the post with the entry. However, entries will only be accepted if you post them to the thread. Please do not post a video on your portfolio and expect us to just know that it is your entry for the monthly theme. You must also make a post about it in this thread linking to your entry.
We hope you enjoy this monthly theme! If you would like more information on how the monthly themes work, you can go here. If you are not sure whether or not your entry will fit, feel free to ask!

- Your entry must be done in the month of April to be accepted.
- You can sing in any language.
- Your piece of work does not need to be vocaloid-related.
- If you are covering a song, it should be at least 1:30 minutes long.
- If you wish to write translyrics, please write translyrics for the whole song.
- If you are doing art, please do at least half-body! A background is preferable, but if you can't do that, that is fine, too.
- In one or two sentences, please explain how your entry fits the theme.
Not sure what to do?
- How about cover Jougen no Tsuki or Love is War? Or Relics of Cloud? If you want to check if your song works, please feel free to!
- Your OC in an outfit from a song that uses poetic language?
- Write a fanfic about a Vocaloid song that uses figurative language.

Re: [MONTHLY THEME] April: Poetry ~ Due April 30th!
That would be fine. Just make sure the poem is at least ten lines long? \o\ And that you can add your own personal flair/interpretation to it?
Re: [MONTHLY THEME] April: Poetry ~ Due April 30th!
first of all, i'd like to apologise for the audio quality - my webcam has been acting up for a while and it was all i could do to increase the volume after recording (for some reason, everything it recorded came out extremely low) QwQ i also strained on the higher notes a bit this rime around cos i was trying not to sing too loud, since i wasn't alone xD normally, i would not have found it ideal for recording, but i really wanted to do this today OwO
so, without further ado, here is my submission: a piano arrangement of jougen no tsuki >__<
why i chose it: i absolutely adore this song. with so much beautiful imagery and metaphors from start to finish in the lyrics, i feel that the song itself is just a poem with a melody wrapped around it (if that even makes sense). i even found the pv moving >__>
i'm hoping to do a second, better and less rushed entry but thought i'd submit this first just in case i can't xD an old, teresa teng song was actually the first thing to pop into my mind when i saw the word "poetry", but unfortunately, i can't find an off vocal for it QwQ maybe it's not such a bad thing, cos it's a hard song for me to sing anyway xD

*Drops entry* ( I actually had time do it Q u Q)
I believe this entry fits the theme because of it's lyrics and its expression. The lyrics expresses how one truly feels about their love.
"Love is war" is like a title of a poem and by just reading the English version of the lyrics sounds like a poem.
With that I am off ciaoo~

Well, here's my entry: https://ytchorus.forumotion.com/t5551p30-joker-s-trans-lyrics#268924
This song fits the poetry theme because poetry is defined as "literary work in which special intensity is given to the expression of feelings and ideas by the use of distinctive style and rhythm". The japanese lyrics play on Que Sera Sera and instead call it Ke Sera Sera. Apparently, Ke is the symbol for Mysterious, and that matches the whole song.

- WOULD YOU LOOK AT THIS!!
I actually have something that fits the monthly theme!
Higurashi Moratorium - English
(by: TOTAL OBJECTION)
A very abstract song with multiple meanings. Truth be told, I really don't know what this song is about, I just love it a lot and was first captured by it by an odottemita, and then had it looping in the middle of one of my depressed situations and it really spoke to me in a rather... suicidal manner. Must be because GUMI jumps out of the building in the PV and all this talk about insects and unworthyness.
What kind of meanings did you get from this?
Re: [MONTHLY THEME] April: Poetry ~ Due April 30th!
This is a duet entry by Aisu and I --> his AC: https://ytchorus.forumotion.com/u3773
Most ppl should know this song by now but~I'll still write something ^u^
This song is based off a Japanese folk tale called "The Crane Wife"; basically there's this poor man who saved an injured crane, and one day it secretly turned into a beautiful woman and married him in return. Because they were poor, the wife started weaving and selling clothes for a living; however the man found out that his wife was indeed, a crane, and she was using her own feathers to weave clothes. The crane's true form was revealed, so she said goodbye and flew away 8D
The story in the song is the same, except she weave clothes for Len's medical fee, and she turned back into a crane cuz she used up all her feathers =u=
So yeah~traditional vocaloid song featuring japanese literature, pretty poetic =D
(Gomen everything coming out of me sounds so unattractive....OTZ)

Link: Yoshiwara Lament
The songs tells a story about a girl who fell in love with a boy when she was younger, and wanted to belong only to him forever. However at some point, she was sold to a brothel in order to become a courtesan and then at some point lost hope. The song also includes some deeper meanings, such as the meaning of the flowers mentioned (Sunflower; loyalty, devotion, attachment to a person and ardent love and hydrangea; pride, beauty, cruelty, feminity, indifference)
(this is actually a demo recording that lacks harmonies and isn't mixed but i ran out time, since i can't work on this for the rest of the month, so i decided to upload the unfinished version bc i probably wouldn't be on time---ok i'll quit rambling now)

So if you're talking about the four-line version of Humpty Dumpty, no. xD

Reason I chose this song: This may seem like a very cliche choice but I chose Yobanashi Deceive. The song focuses on a boy, Kano, who has the power to deceive how he is seen by others, in the song he presents the viewer a "story" which he claims is fictional when it's actually the story of himself. At one part of the song he says: "Listen closely! Listen to my heart", which I interpret to be Kano wanting someone to notice who he really is under all the lies. I see this song as the most poetic in the KagePro series because there is really more to this song than is implied. OkI'llstopbeforeIstartanewKageProtheoryandspoilthewholeseries

Re: [MONTHLY THEME] April: Poetry ~ Due April 30th!
Link: Yonjuunana
I consider Yonjuunana to be about isolation and discovering that the things that were supposed to make you happy are unfulfilling.
The girl whispers "save me" because she feels like she can't talk about how unhappy she is but she wishes someone would realize.
When she takes off her makeup, she is not only revealing her true physical appearance, she is also letting her true thoughts and emotions show and searching for someone whom she can confide in. She especially wants to talk to the boy from her school, since he knew her back when she was just an ordinary person and not an idol; if he were there, he would treat her as an equal and listen to her seriously. As a celebrity, she expects other people wouldn't understand why she is so dissatisfied with her position.
The lyrics refer to the girl's old wings, which were real, unlike her current wings, which are just a costume. She calls the wings a burden when wings are usually supposed to set you free. Back in the old days, she genuinely loved singing and dreamed about being an idol. However, when the dream came true, it turned out to be a big disappointment. It's similar to the story of Icarus, whose wax wings brought him to great heights but then melted and sent him plummeting back down.
She ends up feeling lonely and couldn't find joy in music as she had before. She mentions that she does not want to betray her old dream, though, and continues singing and smiling even though it's painful, saying "I'm okay". She insists on maintaining that facade because she wants her sacrifice to be worthwhile, but she still longs for the simpler days of the past.

Waaaaahhh. I'm so late. ;A; Too bad Humpty Dumpty is too short.
I chose this song because it had a deep meaning to me. When I first heard this song, it sounded like a happy tune and everything until I watched the actual PV and read the translated lyrics. Apart from telling the song's story, it also relates to everyone's lives as everyone faces/will face/faced these harsh "words" somewhere in their life. It shows what is behind the facade of putting up with everything. Um...I'm not very good at expressing these sort of things. xD But basically it just sounded meaningful and figurative so I guess I thought of it as a poem.

Re: [MONTHLY THEME] April: Poetry ~ Due April 30th!
I hope this is fine....!!!
Originally I wanted to sing something by Fullkawa because his works screams poem to me LOL But the one I could think of was something that I'm doing for a duet already so--
Instead I recorded this last night (*ノェノ) kous is also one of those producers that I associate with poems....... Most of his songs aren't... straight to the point? A lot of them aren't really obvious with what they're about and I think that's usually my first thought about poems as well ahaha You can't just read them and understand them at once, but you have to?? feel them?? in order to understand them?? Something like that... (even tho not all poems are like this ahahaha)
So that's why I decided to sing this song!! Hontou + Uso is sad, that's the feeling I get. What's happening, I have no clue LOL The singer is dealing with a lot of negative feelings, that part is obvious. I like to think that someone close to the singer disappeared somehow, died or a relationship that ended or.... something... ............yeAH
Overall I feel like it got a poem-like feel, ~simple~ lyrics which hold a lot of?? meaning?? (also which repeats & rhymes iF WE SHOULD BE REALLY PICKY HERE LAUGHS FAlls down whispers sorry) and also the singer comparing herself to a flower (AND THERES FLOWERS IN THE WHOLE PV ITS HARD TO MISS AHAHHAA). and yeah. stuff like that!!!
how do people describe stuff well lies down cries i did... my... best... _(:3)/L
aNYWAYS I HOPE THIS IS FINE...!!! uwu

Re: [MONTHLY THEME] April: Poetry ~ Due April 30th!
AUGHHH I made it in time!! xD I pretty much couldn't sing this entire month, so I wasn't sure if I'd be able to finish recording something, and I was able to sort of rush this tonight. I'm sorry it's not that good, but it was the best I could do. >.<
Anyway!!
Moonlight (Yue Guang) is a song by Anson Hu (now known as Tiger Hu). The original song was for the Chinese animated wuxia series, Qin's Moon.
The lyrics themselves are a style of Chinese poetry, so I thought it'd be perfect for this month. It uses both the moon and the sword as symbols, where the moon represents unlimited ideas and the sword is the "second life" of a warrior. It seems to talk about the pointlessness of war and how there is no real victor. You can see the translation here:
