Tales of Xillia

Namco just revealed the new Tales game a while ago, and, as every tales fan knows, it's title is Tales of Xillia. Currently, it is a PS3 exclusive game and has a 2011 release for Japan. There is no localization news about it yet.

It will take place in a world named Liese Maxia. In this world, humans, spirits and demons live in harmony.

The characteristic genre of this game is RPG of Unwavering Convictions(揺るぎなき信念のRPG, Yuruginaki shinnen no RPG)

The battle system of the game is Double Raid Linear Motion Battle System (DR-LMBS), which focuses on teamwork of two characters. An example of this can be seen in the trailer below.

There will be two main characters - one boy and one girl. The following descriptions are copied from Wikipedia.

Jude Matis - A 15 year old male who attends a medical school in the royal city, he excels in his school and gets things done. He is voiced by Tsubasa Yonaga and is designed by series veteran, Kōsuke Fujishima, who had previously designed characters for Tales of Symphonia, Tales of the Abyss and Tales of Vesperia.

Milla Maxwell - A 20 year old female who is a master of spirits controlling the four elements of earth, water, wind and fire. She is voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro and is designed by series veteran, Mutsumi Inomata, who had previously designed characters for Tales of Destiny, Tales of Eternia and most recently Tales of Graces among other Tales games.

I CERTAINLY hope that they release this outside of Japan. Many have been asking only to be ignored. It looks like it's gonna be a great game. Little information has been released so I can't say much yet.

I'm so excited about this too! The battle system alone, based on the trailer, seems to enable team ups with the characters, making for more visually interesting fights!

Also, we had to say this, but YAY ANOTHER MALE HEALER.

Hisui was alone in that department...

The sad thing is, we won't EVER see this in America. Namco-Bandai announced that they won't localize anymore 'Tales Of' games or .hack//LINK. D:

But this game is so PRETTY. *o* I like Shuto's eye color. xD

I did hear about news of Namdai focusing on Japan now, because of failures in the foreign market. But they brought this upon themselves. They should have localized some Tales!

saddens me that I only have a Wii.

Me and a friend of mine were raging about it. We noticed how Namdai almost never advertises its games. :/

I never heard any news about Namco not releasing Tales and .hack// outside of Japan anymore. Source please?

What I DID hear/read was that Namdai will focus development in Japan, and not their overseas branch. This means that the Japanese main branch will closely monitor (and will give the final word) what the overseas branch will do.

Namdai expects 50% of it's revenue to come from other countries by 2016. I don't see how they can do this without localizing some Tales and that final .hack// game.

I may be overly optimistic on this one, but it makes sense...

To be honest, I heard this from one of my DeviantArt friends. She's a diehard 'Tales Of' fangirl (mostly Symphonia and Abyss) and always is up-to-date on the latest info. I can ask where exactly she heard this because I know she didn't lie about it.

Yeah, y'know, unless Namco Bandai gets their act together, I'm not gonna say anything about this game.

I'm participating in the current campaign to get .hack//Link and other shelved games localized in the US. I'd bring my signature and avatar here, but....I'm lazeh. lol

I do hope they get their act together. It'd be a waste to kill off the remaining Tales fans overseas, just because of this. They are digging their own grave.

Actually, that's a pretty old interview. That interview happened WAY BEFORE Namdai stopped its overseas development. A lot of things have happened over the past week like the one I stated above.

What Tales games have you played? I've beaten Abyss, Dawn of the New World, and Legendia, and I've played through about half of Symphonia before I had to give it back to one of my friends. XD

I'm relatively new to the Tales series, but I am playing Symphonia and I've seen TotW XD
I just really get sucked into my current video game addictions~ Hehe.
I would so play Vesperia and Graces F and all other Tales game for that matter if I can go to my friend's house *looks at Kenta*

Anyway, we're getting a bit out of topic here, so let's limit the next posts to Xillia and/or Namco's (fail) strategies XP

But yeah, I've NEVER seen a commercial for a Tales game. :/ Namdai isn't the best at advertising for their games.

The only Tales game that's been heavily advertised is Symphonia, but that's largely due to Nintendo's help.
Hopefully, this 15th anniversary game gets an overseas release AND is actually advertised. But right now, Namdai USA is busy on ANOTHER Naruto game and that Knights game thingy whatever

True~ Do stay on topic~ But since someone asked, I played all Tales games already ;D except Tales of Fandom and Tales of Mobile~

Official Tales of Xillia website has been updated. The link is on the first post. Additional info about the story, characters, theme song, etc. have been added. You can also hear 3 samples of each character's voice~

I really love the voice actor for Milla

After playing Symphonia, I still haven't found a Tales game that beats that (Knight och Ratatosk was a big fat letdown, though I haven't been playing so many more), so I hope that this one will be good.
