Hi YTC,

I'm organizing a one time chorus group to cover You from Higurashi no Naku Koro ni/When They Cry.

The script is split into 4 roles and I'm looking to have each one filled by at least one person. Depending on the interest, the group will have 4 vocalists at minimum, and 8 at max (2 singers for each role).

The topic says audition, but given how slowly this forum moves, it's more of just a formality at this point. However, if you are interested, please check out the script, pick a role (1 through 4) and fill out the requested information below with a sample of you singing at least 2 lines from the script.

I'll get back to you promptly, and if you're accepted, you have 2 weeks (14 days) to submit your lines. Otherwise, if your lines aren't in by that time, I ask that you drop from the vocalist role. This way, each vocalist who joins has the same amount of time to complete it.

One project just finished and now you bring in another Reizu!! xDD

(I've been meaning to cover this song to: this instrumental )
Probs going to go for 3 or 4 after class *^* (starts in 5min. so gonna go!)

but quick question... "Itsumo soba de waratteiyou" -- I hear yo-o instead of yo-u. Is that a stylistic thing or just incorrect lyrics or singing?

Oh ho ho. I know right. Glad you're interested and it'd be great to have you on the chorus. Just make sure your drug lord studies are going smoothly first.

What you heard is correct. What you read is also the correct romanization.

Thanks for auditioning. Since you're open for any role, I'd like you to cover Role 1 with Iza-chan, based on blend test. Your voice is great and I think it'll mix well. My only concern is the pronunciation. Please use the example on-vocal guide posted as the basis so the lines match up with mixing.

I can easily record in stereo (only takes one click ahaha). The main reason I record mono is because my friend that went to school for audio engineering (and also occasionally mixes for me) had asked me to at one point, and it became a habit since I like to stay uniform with things that I do. Just now, I asked him again for clarification, and he said, "Because you'll only have one signal as mono. It affects things such as widening, centering, etc. Same thing with panning."

' v ' So I guess that's why LOL. I haven't thought about it that much until you mentioned it.

On another note...I had no idea we had to record stereo (peeked at Emi's message ehehe)--I shall do that. I also record at a 0.4 recording volume on audacity; if that should be louder or smaller, let me know! I just opened it now to looks at the settings--and I'm hoping it wasn't last 0.2 xDD That is waaaaay below normal. Anywhoo...looking forward to work with you all as well *^*

This disclaimer should probably have gone in the intro post, but I'm using this project as an opportunity to try many 'firsts'. These include things like organizing a chorus project to completion, mixing a chorus project, drawing for a chorus project, and creating a video (though not animating).

And along with that intention is bringing this project to completion in a timely manner (i.e. not letting this turn into a dead project or leaving it in limbo for 6 months).

It won't be a perfect mix job and it won't be the greatest art, but this will get done. So long as you all are fine with these conditions, I really do welcome you and appreciate you joining.

AHAHA okay. Also, the project sounds great to me. I'll just follow along and hope that it is a success! (~~Pfft you are the boss--just drag us along like the elder we must respect and can't talk back to)~~ I'm super laid back and I kind of already signed up with this contract ~~dammit this is what I get for not reading the tiny print and already signing my name~~ and I plan to go through with it all the way. SO DO AS YOU WILL ALMIGHTY ONE. Anywho...I really like the design of the art! It's only circles for now...but it looks cool *^*

I'm going to do retakes on the puffs but my room mate will be back soon and she's going to be tired from work;;I'm sure she's planning on crashing as soon as she get's settled. I'm good with Riyumi's and Iza's lines.

Riyumi, the puffs in your take are all non-solo lines so it's not a problem. If you want to resend in though parts only, be my guest and I'll use that instead, but for the rest of song, your lines are good.
