Seki's Honey Bunches of Covers

Post by Seki.han on Fri Oct 09, 2015 2:35 pm

This is a very late introduction.... My name is Seki and I am a smol 15 year old male that sings sometimes! Aaand that's about it....

I never desired to be a singer let alone youtaite in my life actually... I wasnt 'singing since I was little' or 'was always in choir' or something. I actually got here for a very different reason.

From as long as I can remember- I was very insecure of my voice. It's very rare and odd for a male to have a female sounding voice, in both pitch and tone. Because of this... All my life even today I would always forcefully lower my voice to not get the 'wait, but he sounds like a girl!' statements. This was quite dangerous as it strained my throat, causing me to have lots of sore throats! But, I felt like it couldnt be helped. That I couldnt speak normally anymore, that I had to mask it. Puberty only made my voice less pitched but it was very slight. I resented my natural voice, and I needed to find a way to make myself comfortable with it again! Then I thought of becoming a youtaite- with this I can practice working with my voice and singing to my favorite of songs! Singing in this natural, real voice is slowly helping me gain confidence, so I would never have to hide it for anyone ever again. "Yes! I am male! And I have this voice!" sort of thing!

I don't have much technique when singing. I cannot mix either, but I feel like I don't need those things to make me content with myself. I just need self satisfaction. Nothing else!!

Ah.... after that long story.. I guess I'll show you my most recent cover

dUDE WE HAVE A LOT OF DUDES WHO ARE BORN WITH HIGH-PITCHED VOICES AND THAT'S A GOOD THING

cuz that means you can beat those who cant reach higher pitched songs (which are also songs that are popular these days) mweheheheehe

I GET REALLY EXCITED WHEN PEOPLE CAN REACH HIGH NOTES DOESNT MATTER MALE OR FEMALE, BECAUSE THEY'RE REALLY HARD TO FIND AND IT WOULD BE FUN TO HAVE A SKYPE CALL WHERE WE ALL CAN JUST SCREAM AND SCREECH AND BREAK WINDOWS AND COMPETE EACH OTHER ON WHO CAN SING THE HIGHEST NOTE AND I'M SMILING SO MUCH AND GETTING TOO EXCITED OVER THIS AND-

But in all seriousness, I personally think your voice is beautiful and sweet-sounding. It also portrays emotion and sTRONK FEELINGS. I love how you have two octaves going on in the song because it ADDS VARIETY. For improvements, you can pull your notes a bit longer at the end of verses. Breath support is also a very important factor in holding notes as well as maintaining pitch. or if you're lazy to practice it (like me) then you can separate your lines in multiple tracks in your recording session (except you'll end up with a lot of mixing work hahaha) For variety purposes you can add vibrato in long notes.

As for mixing, just experiment with EQ and compressor in your mixing program to make the voice blend in with the music. I have completely no idea how this works I just yolo click here click there at it but all I know is that these effects sound better than raw, dry vocals slapped plainly on an instrumental. Oh and reverb. Reverb is always needed for some reason. Although if you're using the older version of Audacity, Echo would be easier to do the reverb effect.

WELL GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR YOUTAITE CAREER, ABLE-TO-HIT-HIGH-NOTES BUDDY. I HOPE THIS HAS HELPED YOU. psst let's have a contest on who can break the most glass windows sometime
