Eclipse'd Covers

Post by Eclipse 食 on Wed Jun 03, 2015 12:48 pm

This is my stash of covers, in which covers will gradually be added to. These covers will be in either English or Japanese (Mainly Japanese). You can expect to hear mostly rock and metal stuff out of me, including screaming. Any and all feedback is appreciated.

I just noticed that, as a new member to the forums, I cannot post links just yet. That's embarrassing. ^^; If you really want to listen now, then search "Eclipse New Youtaite" on Youtube and you should find it.

Here is my first cover:

Hiya!

You have such great energy to your voice! Love it! And your mix sounds pretty solid to mewhatdoiknowimmacompletemixingnoob.

A question, though, do you tune yourself to an on-vocal when you record? I like to play both my recording and the on-vocal simultaneously to catch off-pitches (everyone has those off moments). Auto-tuning is also an option, but that doesn't really help you improve.

I think you'll be great as you get better!

Merci, Sunne. ^-^ I've been blessed with Audition, and some experience using it, so I'm just lucky in the regard of mixing. I'm sure your mixes aren't that bad, and you can still improve either way.

I do not tune myself. I wish I had the ability to, though, just because it looks fun, and it's a handy thing to have even if you won't be using it that often. I tend to put some heavy autotune on the backing vocals, and very minimal autotune on the mains, just to fix some tiny slip-ups. Otherwise, no real tuning/autotuning is applied.

Your technique of playing both the recording and on-vocal at the same time is interesting. I'll have to try that next time.

I'll do my best! I'll listen to some of your material later~

Finally, another cover! Obligatory desu. Desu. I had a little trouble mixing the chorus, but otherwise, I'm actually rather happy with this one. Let me know what you think, and judge me for my sins~

If YouTube isn't cooperating, you can also listen to it here: https://soundcloud.com/legulus/eclipse-tokyo-teddy-bear-vocal-cover
