Uh, so, when I introduced myself I said one of the things I do is make music, and I also happen to write original songs.
Recently I've been writing a lot of original songs...
...So I've been putting off covers like this one. ><

This song will be on my second album, "Clock-Wise"... which won't be around for a while, but I have some information on it on my official tumblr's music page.

And yes, I am singing. Even that female-sounding voice in the chorus, that is me.
Well, I tuned the female voice, at least- put the original recording up an octave and adjusted the formant.

Not exactly just youtaite stuff... but I thought why not, I might as well post it.



So, this is my audio reel for 2012-2013... basically any original work that I have done over the course of late 2012 to the present.

There's some of my self-sung originals in there... "advisement", "this crystal embrace", "Feeling for Snow", and "Reticence" actually have vocals inside of them... anything mark "feat. Kenji-B" is meant for me to sing, but the vocals haven't been recorded yet.

Now for something a little more utaite-centered.



This is a chorus of "Electro Saturator" for a certain Youtaite named Mango.
I was a vocalist in the song (labeled just "Kenji", though it should be "Kenji-B"... not that big of a deal though), as well as the mixer.
I did a LOT of work to get this right, hahaha. Lots of choral arrangement testing.

Today's post is for my cover of the newest YOHIOloid demo released a few days ago, "NeapolitaN". It was written by ApolP and EmpathP as "Apakilypse".
To be honest, I've actually known about the song for a while now, however, I had forgotten about it by the time it was posted. But I wanted to celebrate, so I had to cover it.
Plus it's a really fricking great song and everyone should go hear the original at least once.

For Chiika's birthday, Mango asked me kindly to mix this chorus in her honor.
So I did! This is the result. Sadly, it is super belated but she still really enjoyed it! (I cannot apologize enough for being so time fucked at the time of being asked to mix. It was Caspy who challenged me to mix it by the 13th of August that pushed me to finish it, and I did so on the 9th. Then we just had to wait for the lovely animation Saint was prepping for it.)

(I have never been so unlucky with time my entire mixing career. Oh my god.)
(Someone's gonna see the mix credit say "Kenji" and think the guy who encodes videos for folks on NND, so for future reference if anyone credits me for vocals or a mix please credit me as Kenji-B thank you.)

Today I uploaded a cover of SILENCE that I've been working on for about a week now. I had uploaded a preview of it to my SoundCloud maybe a few days ago. (It has since been replaced with a downloadable, full version, but SoundCloud is weird in terms of re-encoding the file for playback so I would actually suggest visiting the description of the video and downloading it from Box instead.)

I decided to do a one-shot, vocal-only cover of Jim Guthrie's "So Small" from his album "Now, More Than Ever" (which was remastered recently). 
I've had it looping since yesterday.

I have a few new uploads!
The first is a new original song that I'm working on for my next EP, "Hard-Disk Hide and Seek". It's just a short demo, but I hope it gets the general feeling across.



The next song is a cover of GuitarHeroPianoZero's song, "Glass Wall", created in celebration of it's performance at Lady Gaga's ARTPOP Ball as part of Hatsune Miku's opening act!
