ughmmmm. I'm very new to singing and recording,
so I just wanted to ask how everyone records their song?
is it by parts? or you sing the whole song straight?

cuz when I sing the whole song straight and listen, and find something I'm not contented with I can't correct it(VERY new to mixing as well)

and if I sing by parts it's pretty easier but I get a hard time connecting the last tone I sang to the next part(not making any sense)

anyways that is all :3

I sing parts~!
Until one whole paragraphy thingy finishes, I go on to next paragraphy thingy
-bad wording-//fail

I sometime also sing straight until there is huge pause in song, cut, then sing on to next part
If I manage to do it and song isn't super long

Uhm, I hope I kind've help you and some sort of way, ehehe "OTL

Well you can't say that everything goes well with 1 shot. Every person has fails 'till they think that It's good.

Usually every vocaloid songs has 1 few minute pause (Guitar solo or some other solo).
This is good for part breaking.

Just notice that, when you do it in parts your voice 'change' (If you understand)
+ These means lot of work.

You could also sing the whole song and then cut the worst parts and replace them with better one If you are too lazy for the working. (Or do it all over)

I do it in parts... but when I'm singing it in try #1, I usually sing as much I can (ie. half the song) to see which parts I especially suck at... or if I suck at the whole thing, then i practice more. =P But I agree... sometimes your voice changes a little when you do it in parts.

Well it depends, if you spam a song about 500 times, i usually just sing the whole thing because parts is too much of a bother because i know the song too well, might as well jsut sing the whole thing.

if its something like a cover that you must cover, but you don't want to oneshot and fail epicly, i usually do that in parts but beware (for me and prolly with other people) i have a voice that changes and wants to be whatever it wants so i usually avoid singing in parts unless i can record one part. be satisfied, if not record it once or two more times and move on so i avoid a voice change effect.

Take my kago no tori cover for example ( to lazy to link LOL) my voice when from high pitched to shota like... LOL. because i recorded in parts and yeah. yeah i failed.

so it also really depends whether or not you're comfortable recordin it full or in parts too, also back ground noise considered if you don't like doing noise removal lol

I must be one of the only people that doesn't have a tone change when I sing in parts. My voice is usually pretty consistent all the way through.

As with alot of others, I sing in parts. I'll usually do it twice, though. Sing one verse, miss the next, sing chorus, miss next verse, sing verse, skip chorus, etc etc etc. If there are insert lines, I do those on a seperate track, too. I find it alot easier doing it that way. If I listen through and hear something I don't like, I re-record it. I've never had an issue with my tone or pitch changing so I guess I'm quite lucky that way.
