Audacity - Recording with Earbuds?!

Hello~

Well, I found out while looking around in Youtube for a solution for my little problem (I'm mic less T-T) I found out that with the Audacity BETA version, you can record your voice with your Earbuds, if you put it in the mic hole thingy.

I tried and it really surprised me that it worked... o.o So, I started making a cover and... well... when I compare my audio with the ones in Youtube I think to myself, 'Well, this SUCKS!' and I suck at creating my cover, putting my audio into the background musik (or Karaoke, whatever) .

I played around with the Effects, to take away the noises and to make it less loud but I just can't make it more... realistic? Less tunnel like voice (not echo) and... yeah... better (and I sound like I'm sick or something)? i just suck at those things but again, only now I started playing around with those audio recording eyperiments and mixing etc etc...

Are you recording using the laptop mic (if you're using a laptop)? Because from various experiences, laptop mics don't record well. I don't think this goes for a lot of laptops out there, but from the ones I've tried, they aren't good quality.

Maybe if you post an example?

Hmmm, now that you write it down... I think I made something wrong. Maybe I recorded the mic of my laptop instead with the earbuds *facepalm* Idiotic me... -_-;
