Killing the computer`s hum!?!?
So yeah, I figured out my voice is way too distorted when I do a noise removal in audacity (the settings are already too low) everytime I sing in a certain way (dunno words to describe). As a result, my voice gets choppy and it gets more girly (lol)
Also, correct im I'm wrong, getting a better mic won't solve the problem. Thus I want to buy a silent cooler and want to know if there is a way to isolate the HD's reading noise.
I can do something about the cooler but I want to know some way to kill the HD's noise

Re: Killing the computer`s hum!?!?
I heard stories that Audacity's noise removal is a little bit crappy (I don't know myself, I've been using audition since forever), try using another program for noise removal?
And getting a better mic can solve the problem.
Hope I made sense and helped. xD

Well I used audition to remove the noise but now my vocals are reverbed after that......
Maybe that is because my room is small and the door is closed. I'll try singing with the door open when the entire house is silent

Re: Killing the computer`s hum!?!?
Actually it will cause more echo if you have a larger room size. Though I don't think an open door would do anything much. Singing in a closet seems to be the best way for me lol. The clothes would also absorb the echo.
I would recommend buying a new mic. Most of time, mics will also create self-noise. And some mics come with stuff that could somewhat filter out excess noises. The mic I have would only record what's in front of it and not behind. So it will block most of my computer hum if i place it in front of the computer. Another thing, usually laptops have a softer fan. Try finding one with a quiet fan. (New laptops are always nice).

Re: Killing the computer`s hum!?!?
Well my room is small and the PC hum gets reflected by the wall behind it so the sound scatters aroud my entire room...
And yes, since my room is small, echoes and reverberation happens when my door is closed. I gotta let my room as open as possible to diminish them.
I guess getting a new mic and a more silent cooler will do it.
@Glenn: I had already read your article and saw some comments about the gate doing a sound when it acts and when it stops acting, so I would like to avoid using it...
Now the problem is where I'm going to get a good mic around here T^T
