Voice sounds boring, when speaking, singing, ect.
Yeap, I want to change that really badly.
I mean I love to sing, and sure I can't hit any high notes, but I want to at least sound good.
I know it's a thing like, you either do or you don't, but I don't want to sound boring.
Something with.. feeling like this?
..So yeah. Any tips to sounding.. ALIVE?
:U ; 3 ; -doesn't want to live with this type of voice, fgfgd-

Vocal range is... just practised. orz Proper vocal training will definitely help. If you can't hit high notes/low notes/your range is small, it may because you're not opening your throat enough when you sing (you know how you tighten your throat area to squeeze out those high notes?).
As for sounding alive... Um... "Getting into character" is a good way to start, I think. Also, matching your facial expression will definitely make it easier (ie. smile when you sing happy songs?!). Trying to perfectly reproduce how a singer you really like sings will eventually give you an idea of how it's done and how you want to do it.
I also have a problem with my speaking voice sounding kinda dead, actually. I think the simplest way to "solve" it is to mask it with character. For example, you won't sound dead if you have a reputation for making sarcastic remarks - that's just you having a characteristic dry tone. owo

What I do is I tend to bounce around a lot when singing. *It sounds dumb buuut* For instance when I'm singing a happy energetic song I really go all out, even doing little movements, singing loudly putting a real accent on each beat and just changing my voice ever so slightly so it has a really nice happy tone in it. When singing a sadder song I'll move really slowly and smoothly, add vibrato to the long notes, pay attention to the dynamics I use and really try to feel the song.
But yeah, the main way to stop yourself from sounding boring is accenting the 1st and 3rd beat of the bar *If you don't know which is the first and third then don't worry, it comes naturally with the music*

^ Haha, I'll try the whole movement thing. Judging from what you say, I think it will help, even a little ~

I know how you feel, but I'm starting to improve my 'boring voice'. I think I can 'fit' in the song, even if my voice doesn't sometimes, but this is my problem.
It's like Seitanoshuuki said, you have to get into the character, be the character.
In this case, you want to sing Stardust, right? So you must be a crazy woman who found out that her boyfriend has betrayed her. She is mad, isn't she? You must feel her 'drama' and try to reproduce it (?) Just like Kotone said, you must ajust your siging voice to the 'mood' of the song you are gonna sing.
Oh, I'm so bad with this kind of advices! Feel the music and sing it.

No no no, that was good advice! I really have never thought of feeling the emotion of the characters either, so now I'll be trying it ! Thank you also ~Yukits wrote: I know how you feel, but I'm starting to improve my 'boring voice'. I think I can 'fit' in the song, even if my voice doesn't sometimes, but this is my problem.

I'm not really good with 'going in to the character' so it's like: choose a song which fit you or you know how the character feels. (You have yourself experienced the same)
This would make your singing more emotions & easier
(expect seiyuu who are professional wwww) but this is just the beginning!!
Good luck & don't be afraid showing emotions tru' your face!!

Re: Voice sounds boring, when speaking, singing, ect.
are you singing softly, or loudly ? because that may really affect how you sound like ~
try being all dramatic when you sing, just like the chick in the video, may help a bit in "sounding alive"
