A mixing/recording program that does not lagg? Empty A mixing/recording program that does not lagg?

Post by Kouko Thu Jul 01, 2010 10:00 am

As of now, I use audacity and adobe audition for my mixing...
And it annoys me that I have to record in audacity, save the acapella version and then mix in Audition, I end up having a lot of files just for one cover!
And Audition lags so terribly much that I can't record even small bits in it Crying
So, can anybody tell me of programs like Audition but where it does not lagg(Audition shouldn't even lagg on my computer according to the specs required, I have that and much more) or maybe just a way to make Audition stop lagging so much? D:
THankies~

why don't you mix in audacity? I get along with it quite well...
other then that, I tried sony vegas, but it's expensive *cough*if you buy it*cough*....and it doesn't lag, but you have to save every file after recording on it's own....

Sony Vegas got good mixing tools? :O
Nah, I don't like Audacity as a mixing tool.. I lack some tools which I use A LOT in Audition

i used audacity a while ago and it doesn't lag at all.
and currently i'm using adobe audition 3 and it doesn't lag either.

however if use my headset mic with audacity, it will cause a 5 ms delay which is easy enough to correct. but when i'm using my usb mic, it turns out really well on both software.

so, i think you have a hardware limitation problem OR your system is full of stuff causing your computer to run slower and you will get lags on everything you're running(software, games, videos)

and it will be very helpful if you post your computer specs here.

i hope that helps

My Audacity is good, since I downloaded VST Plug-Ins from the wiki and refer to the wiki to help with the mixing. So it's not bad at all.

I think it's just a hard drive problem? Or maybe mic?

It's likely you're running too many programs at the same time and eating up CPU processing power when using Audition?

I mix in Cubase (expensive S@#! XD), but I record in Audacity, mix down the tracks, and then import it into Cubase. It's actually a LOT easier to record in Audacity, since most actual mixing programs will create a small wav file of every single thing you record which is a pain in the A@# to clean up 8D.

Trust me, having several tracks (seperating into like, say, verse, chorus, harmonies) makes mixing it so much easier anyway 8D.
